We shut our office down for our recent Spring quarterly Mission Trip Day. We ate breakfast together while listening to our guest speaker, Amy Lancaster, who shared several nuggets of wisdom.
We did one Skittle Scatter team building game where they competed for time off benefits. We always want to remind people about the importance of teamwork at work, home, church, etc. — “People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses or the problems of modern society.” ~Vince Lombardi
Our community service project was working on the line in the warehouse at MS Food Network boxing up food for needy families. The whole group worked super hard to fill up several pallets with 50 boxes of food on each one - great job team!
We ate lunch together at Taste Italian Kitchen to honor Aaron for his 15 years of service on the P&T Team. They say eating and sharing meals with others is essential for building deep social bonds, improving mental well-bring and strengthening community trust. Studies show that communal dining acts as a powerful bonding tool that reduces loneliness, increases happiness and can even promote healthier eating habits. It offers a space for nurturing relationships and providing emotional support. We’re so busy at work, and it’s always a great opportunity to visit with different people on the team to see what’s going on in their personal lives.
We welcomed our four new people who were recently added to the team (Antonio White, Allison Neal, Nehemiah Jones and Harrison Fuller). We gave away two bonuses with an award. We ended our day giving out Mission Trip Day Bonuses. We greatly appreciate our whole P&T Family working together to fulfill our Mission Statement of Making Money To Spread The Gospel - As We Protect Life & Property - With Teamwork & A Spirit Of Excellence.
Our staff works hard and even more so when people are out sick or on vacation or simply dealing with family emergencies, so these mission trip days give everyone an opportunity to slow down and have a change of pace while giving back to our community. Slowing down to make time for what matters — including giving back — requires shifting from a reactive “busy” mindset to an intentional one, where you plan experiences like this and focus on presence rather than productivity. By breaking routines and deliberately choosing how to spend your time, you can create a more fulfilling life.
