Alemow (Citrus macrophylla) – Rare Collector Citrus

Alemow, also known as Citrus macrophylla, is one of the most unusual citrus species in cultivation. Native to the Philippine island of Cebu, this vigorous tree is prized by citrus collectors and breeders for its unique genetics, exceptional vigor, and importance as a premium citrus rootstock. Recent genetic studies indicate that Alemow is a natural hybrid between a papeda and a citron, giving it characteristics similar to an oversized wild lime.

Tree Characteristics

* Vigorous, fast-growing tree with a spreading canopy
* Purple-tinted new shoots and flower buds
* Excellent heat tolerance and strong root system
* Performs well in containers or in warm subtropical landscapes

Fruit
