Final day reclaiming pasture in Augusta, Mo. Went through 15 acres of fields today mulching anything that wasn't grass. There were cedar, locust, honeysuckle, russian olive, sassafras, calvary pear, and multiflora rose. Owner had planted over a 1000 oaks in these fields several years ago and they were being choked out by these other species.

This client called us a few weeks ago to look at their property they were buying, they needed it cleared enough to set their house corners on. We showed up this morning off Tremebly Rd in Wright City to do just that. We mulched all the cedars and unwanted vegetation from the road to the creek. We will be going back out in a week or so to cut down the big trees that fall within the house plans and then eventually out a culvert to access the back of the property and mulch all the underbrush.

Day 1 of a 2 day job in Augusta, Mo near Boone Valley Golf Club.
PASTURE RECLAMATION!!!
This property we've done quite a bit of work for...lake dams, opened up and expanded food plots, now onto reclaiming fields from locust, cedar trees and russian olive bushes among a slew of other small trees! These pastures haven't been touched in at least 10 years and volunteered trees have made it their home. Client wants to turn them back into warm weather grasses mostly for his deer herd to bed throughout but also browse as they move through the area. We mulched all unwanted species of vegetation to allow the grasses to take back over those areas.

2 days on an equestrian property in Foristell, Mo off Duenke Rd. Client wanted to open up some pasture for horses and clean up 3 sides of her properties fence lines! Also took out 4 20" diameter cedar trees. This is the 5th equestrian property we've worked on in the past months and have enjoyed working around the horses. We will be coming back out to this property within the next month and notching and dropping 20 or so oaks to open up more pasture as well as repairing her gravel driveway and possibly fixing some drainage issues in one of the paddocks.

Today's job in Foristell, Mo off Hwy T and Old Hickory Grove at another Equine property. I took down this large extremely dead oak tree that shattered into a million pieces when it landed. Also took down a lightning struck Hackberry in the woods and then cleaned up a bunch of horse riding trails!

Worked on another Equine property today in Foristell off Duenke Rd. They have lived here for 8 years and wanting to expand their pastures for their 4 horses. Where most of the properties we've been working on lately have been mainly honeysuckle, this one was up to 15" hardwood trees. We put in an 8 hour day and the client wanted more so my butt sat in the machine for another 4 hours tonight and we will finish it tomorrow with the additional 4 hours after I take down a big dead oak and Hackberry that broke out in a storm.

The old adage, cheap work isn't good, good work isn't cheap plays in line with Forestry Mulching as well! Today we worked in Maryland Heights, Mo. We have worked multiple times with this client on several of their properties. This particular property, he had an arborist come out from the city to mark the trees that needed to be removed. Totaled to be 21. We notched and dropped them, mulched the ones that could be mulched and then teamed up with a local tree service to haul away the bigger logs in their grapple truck. The plan is to build multiple homes on this property!!!

Worked up in North St Louis County today off Douglas Rd. This is one of our ongoing projects. Customer bought this 27 acre property to "run the dogs on" but eventually wants to build a house. This property overlooks Pelican Island and the Missouri River on the backside. Pretty spectacular view but he was unable to access it with his Subaru. Today we "cleaned up" an existing access and made it to where we can get a dump truck on the property. I then cut in and widened a road all the way to the back so a truck could access it if need be. Also cleared out an area so he can put up a quonset hut to store some tools. Our next day out there will be time for GRAVEL!!!!
