Glycerin is naturally created during the soapmaking process.

In our handmade soap, it stays right there in the finished bar.

It’s one of those things you don’t necessarily see when you look at a bar of soap—but it’s part of what makes traditional handmade soap different.

Happy Labor Day from Bill & Sharon at Hass Soap Works! 🇺🇸

We’re proud to call Wisconsin home, and we’re especially thankful for the hardworking people, families, neighbors, and small businesses that make our communities such great places to live.

For us, Labor Day is a chance to slow down a little, enjoy these last warm days of a Wisconsin summer, and appreciate the people around us.

However you’re spending the day, we hope it includes good food, good company, and a little time to relax.

There’s more to handmade soap than a pretty bar and a great scent.

We make our soap in small batches using oils and butters chosen for a purpose. During soapmaking, those ingredients are transformed into real soap while naturally occurring glycerin remains in the finished bar.

Then we wait.

Every batch cures for weeks before it's ready for you.

It’s a slower way to make soap—but that’s kind of the point.
