I'm a little late on posting this-

June 12th 2020 Plantiness was created!!! It's so wild that it's already been 6 years !

I worked at King Soopers during the pandemic and saw every day how our community was so stressed, sad, scared, and uncertain about what’s next. I wanted to hug everyone and say, we're all going to be ok! I felt a calling to do something to cheer people up.

In 2019, my dad passed away from brain cancer, after fighting it for over 13 years . it has been the hardest thing to go through in my life. I miss him every day and the grief never actually goes away.

I had started collecting plants years before and always loved them. After my dad passed, I started understanding plants on a deeper level and turned to them for comfort. Taking care of them, reminded me to also take care of myself. It's really hard to explain how they were helping me on my healing journey.

Fast forward to 2020 and my calling to help our community. I knew that I loved plants and they made me happy. As I'm stocking the cheese wall, and I thought : plants + happiness = PLANTINESS!!! And i thought, we'll if plants make me happy, then maybe they can make other people happy too!!

At The end of my shift, I bought 42 lil succulents, grabbed a handful of blank cards from the floral department and asked my 2 dear friends Julia M Kerr
And Andy if they wanted to help me with a project. We spent that evening in their backyard making little cards full of doodles and words of encouragement.

Over the next few days, we left the plants and cards in parks and trails hoping people would find them and that it would put a smile on their face!!!! Julia started a Facebook and Instagram for people to share a picture if they found one, and they did and said they were so surprised a d happy! It was working!!! I immediately knew my life was going to drastically change and Plantiness is all I wanted to do.

6 years, and almost 6,000 plants later- across 26 states and 14 counties! I am forever grateful for that June 12th night that changed my life and has positively impacted our community

HI ! I'M MONICA! 🌿

I started Plantiness with a simple goal: to spread light and love through plants.

What began as gifting a few plants has grown into a community built around kindness, creativity, connection, and of course, plants.
Since 2020, going on 6,000 plants have been gifted across 26 states and 14 countries. The majority of these plants I propagate and grow all by myself .

What many people don't know is that Plantiness has been funded entirely out of my own pocket from day one. My family has helped in many ways to continue to help Plantiness grow. I have put litterally everything I have into Plantiness. There are no investors, donors, sponsors, or big companies behind it. It's just me, a lot of plants, and a big dream.

That's why every Plantiness Party, Tattoo Party, pop-up, and plant sale matters. When you attend an event or buy a plant, you're helping Plantiness continue to grow and helping me gift even more plants to spread joy throughout our communities.

And let's just put it out there—if you'd like to be an angel investor, make a donation, sponsor an event, or help Plantiness grow in a bigger way, let's talk, I would be forever grateful ♡✨

🌿✨ THE WAIT IS OVER! ✨🌿
🎉 is OPEN!!! 🎉 222 Pine St. Old Town, Fort Collins

Just a few short months ago, I met two incredible women, Katie and Emily, who told me about their dream of opening a beautiful shop in Old Town filled with local vendors, makers, and artists. They had been dreaming about this for years and had a vision that included beautiful plants.

The way we met felt like pure kismet. They asked if Plantiness wanted a place to call home and if I wanted to be part of their dream, my answer was an immediate YES! And I cried. Seriously a lot, happy tears of course 😭💚

This month marks 6 years of Plantiness. Since day one, I've been completely mobile, hauling plants all over Colorado, never imagining I'd be part of such a beautiful, permanent space. This is truly a life changing experience for me!

Getting to know Katie and Emily has been such a gift. They are wonderful humans, and they've created something truly special. Pine & Co. is a thoughtfully curated shop filled with treasures from talented vendors near and far. You'll find art, vintage finds, clothing, stained glass, jewelry, oddities, ceramics, plants (of course 🌱), and so much more.

What started as a simple love for plants has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined.

This year for my birthday, I gave away a total of 180 plants to spread light and love into the world — 75 at and 105 at Thursday Night Live with

Giving away plants for my birthday has truly become my favorite tradition. 🪴💚

Since 2022, a total of 755 birthday plants have been gifted, and overall Plantiness has now gifted 5,723 plants across 26 states and 14 countries.

What started as a simple idea has grown into something so much bigger — a way to spread kindness, connection, creativity, and love one plant at a time.

Thank you to everyone who has donated plants and clippings, come to a party, shared a post, adopted a plant, supported a dream, or simply believed in what Plantiness stands for. You are all part of this mission to make the world feel a little softer, brighter, and more alive. 🌎✨
