Interesting case of branch failure.

Clues elsewhere suggested a potential girdling issue. Closer inspection revealed signs of an old strap inclusion, deeply embedded, restricting growth and weakening the structure.

In this case, the girdling led to full separation of an otherwise healthy and important structural limb.

Hazard identified. Safety restored.

Interesting case of branch failure.

Clues elsewhere in the tree suggested a potential girdling issue. Closer inspection revealed an old strap inclusion deeply embedded in the branch, restricting growth and contributing to significant structural weakening.

A good reminder that some hazards aren’t obvious from the ground.

Sometimes the best option isn’t removal.

What started as a conversation about taking out an overgrown shrub turned into a different question:

“What could this plant become?”

Instead of removal—or even rejuvenation—we found a better path. Through selective pruning and training we began the process of training the stems along the pergola structure.

The vision: A serene garden retreat beneath a living canopy with dappled shade and filtered light to enjoy for years to come.
