I’m infamous in Norway in a magazine article about my unique Festdrakt I had help getting made out of a Hardanger embroidery 1800s dress I bought on EBay. It was then turned into a Loften style Bunad dress, the jumper style by my local Fort Collins tailor! Unfortunately I think the language differences made a little issue, but so cool 😎

Every year, Amy Jo Martinson celebrates May 17 in Colorado. She bakes wreath cookies, puts on her Hardanger seamed party costume, and joins the parade and picnic.
– My family on both sides comes from Norway. My mother has been there many times and has had a national costume made for her, but I make my own costumes, says Martinson.
She started sewing party dresses after discovering the trend on social media. She gets the materials from Norway.
– A friend of mine said that not everything can be turned into a party outfit, but why not. There are no rules, says Martinson.”
