Hope to see you all tomorrow at American FarmsteadHers Convention in Green Cove Springs. I'll be giving a talk on the Importance of Propagation both Saturday and Sunday. We'll also be set up to for all your Food Forest needs. Kids are free and there is a 20% off if you get tickets for both days. There are tons of other speakers as well for just about any subject that you can dream up that pertains to homesteading. This is not the event you want to miss. Hope to see you there.

Check out Flying Frog Mushrooms at the American FarmsteadHers Convention. We use Mushroom Compost on every tree at install. This really gives them a great start. Can't wait to see you there and pick up some Mushroom Compost from Johnathan.

This weekend we hope to see you in Williston at Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens for their 11th annual Spring Festival. If you haven't walked this garden before you're in for a treat. Amazing views and even more incredible plants/trees. We stocked up on "Fantastic" Avocados that once mature are cold hardy down to 15 degrees. Plenty of Florida Prince Peaches, Chickasaw plums, hard to find Mulberries, (Rare) Figs, Nectarines, Self Fertile Plums, Pears, Olives, Persimmons along with tons of Edible, Medicinal, Native, and Pollinator plants. Green Thumb Festival is finally here!! Walter Fuller Park in St. Petersburg this coming weekend April 25th and 26th from 9am to 4pm both days. Over 100 Florida Nurseries getting together and bringing their best of the best to accommodate the 20,000 gardening enthusiast each day. If you can't find what you're looking for at Green Thumb, it doesn't exist in Florida at this time. Here's an interactive map of the event. The weather is looking great for this show. We'll be there with some of the hard to find Figs and Mulberries plus as many Edible, Medicinal, Florida Native, Pollinator plants/trees that we can stuff in our space. Friday is National Arbor Day although we (Florida) observe this in January, we're special and can celebrate this twice a year. Hope to see you there.

We took a walk outside the hotel yesterday in Melbourne and stumbled across this little beauty. A great example and reminder that pineapples do not need to be grown in full Florida sun. This is thriving in the dappled light under an oak tree. Thought some of you would appreciate this like we did. Examples of how to grow are everywhere, you just have to pay attention, which cost nothing.
This is our last day at Blueberry Fest - Melbourne. Still have a few Sugarloaf Pineapples available if you're in the area. What is amazing about this variety is it's white flesh and tender edible core that is fiber-rich, and contain the highest concentration of bromelain, an enzyme with potent anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits. Consuming the core can aid digestion, reduce swelling, boost immunity with Vitamin C, and improve circulation. Some even say the core has anti- cancer benefits. Happy Sunday!!
