Happy September!! 🍃 As a southern Florida gardener, September this is one of my FAVORITE months of the year because it’s time to start seeding up and transplanting our “cool weather” vegetables!

While tomatoes, eggplant, lettuce, carrots might be considered a summer crop up north, here in the tropics these crops will produce through the fall, winter and spring. So while my northern friends are hunkering down for winter hibernation, our Florida gardens are just starting to come alive with salad veggies!

Need help planning your fall garden? Want a thriving, abundant crop of your favorite veggie but don’t know where to start? I’m here to help!

I'm really honored to share that I got to work alongside my coworkers here at ECHO to publish this article regarding poly-propagators. Poly-propagators are a unique and helpful option for tropical farmers and small-scale nurseries across the world and here on the farm at ECHO North America Impact Center. I've cited hundreds of articles in my papers throughout my academic career - it feels surreal that I'm a citable author now!

Poly-propagators are enclosures made of polyethylene (clear plastic) or plexiglass where you can grow plant material in a protected environment. These enclosed (or partially enclosed) structures increase humidity and resist temperature fluctuations for better success in propagating plants from cutti...

Hi everyone! I’m Lauren, founder of Plant Relationships, a service that helps folks grow their own gardens. We’re called Plant Relationships because I believe growing food is all about relationships we see in the world - the relationship between seeds and the soil, the weather and the ecosystem, but ALSO all the relationships that people have with each other and the earth. At the end of the day, growing a garden has the potential to foster thriving human and plant communities.
To me, feeding people through vibrant community AND caring for the living environment around us is what it’s all about 😌 Want to learn more? Follow this link: https://linktr.ee/plantrelationships
