Stone chip? Here is what you need to know so that the chip does not expand across your whole windshield:
When you have a chip our technician assesses the size, location, and severity of the chip to determine if the chip is repairable. Generally, a repairable chip is smaller than a quarter. Repairs are done by injecting resin into the chip to fill the damaged area restoring the structural integrity of the glass and help prevent further spreading. Think of it as preventive medicine. Pit filler is then applied to diminish the appearance of the chip.
We can do the repair in shop or as mobile service at your location (weather permitting). The entire stone chip process takes 15-30 minutes.
Note: REPAIRS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE VISIBILITY OF THE CHIP, BUT YOU WILL SEE IT. THE CHIP WILL NOT COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR. If the stone chip is in the driver's view, it can impair
visibility and pose a significant safety concern to your line of vision. If this is the case, we will be happy to quote you on a new replacement upon request.
