We wanted to officially announce that we are permanently closed. With the store not opening in 2020 and having an unexpectedly short season in 2021 due to issues with our supplier, we thought now would be a good time to close the store. We are a few years older than when we started doing this decades ago, so the time is right.
More importantly, we wanted to express our gratitude to all of our customers over the years. Dave's Plants grew out of the plant sales at Belmont Stores, and we first opened on our own after Belmont and its successor closed. The idea of Dave's Plants - selling plants, mulch, and soil on a sidewalk and, later, in a tent for a few weeks a year - does not seem like an idea that should work. But it did because you came back year after year, and you told your friends and family about us. The fact that we were so lucky to have such great and loyal customers was not lost on us and our family is forever thankful to you.
We hope Dave's Plants helped ignite or expand your love for plants and gardening. We hope our plants made your summers a little more colorful and our vegetables made your dinners a little more tasty. And we hope you pass long your love for gardening to your children and grandchildren.
