90 never looked so good! Happy Birthday to Alan Grinsfelder, our company founder and namesake, friend, community leader, family man. Alan's legacy touches so many buildings in our community - his focus not only on aesthetics on the outside but also in making his buildings "people" friendly. If you go out at all in this city, chances are pretty good that you will step into a building built or remodeled by Alan over the years.
But, more importantly, Alan touched the lives of so many in this community. His creativity in his retirement has led him to being the "oldest" student at PFW and his art is wonderfully creative. His kindness, silliness, knowledge, and natural love of people are evident in the number of people he counts as his friends. So, on the 20th of November, we celebrate Alan's 90th! Happy Birthday Alan!

What do high school students and architectural graduates have in common? They like talking about careers! Madelyn Myers represented Grinsfelder Architects at Career Day at Belmont High School recently. Lots of talk about architecture and engineering, but even more about the college experience. Great way to meet individually with students to try to answer their questions about planning for their futures!

We are excited to welcome Madelyn Myers to our team as an Architectural Graduate. Madelyn recently earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University with a minor in Social and Environmental Justice. Her academic background fostered a strong interest in sustainability, universal design, and architectural history, reflecting her commitment to thoughtful and inclusive design. She is also a current member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) demonstrating her dedication to the architectural profession. A Leo native, she enjoys staying active at the gym, crocheting, and traveling. Welcome Madelyn!

Summer means interns and we have two this summer!

Andrew Lee returns to GAAI for his second summer. He is in his thesis year and will finish his degree next spring. Excited to be back in his hometown, Andrew enjoys biking, diving into computer programs, and designing/building what he can at home. He is passionate about exploring ways to enhance the community by designing spaces that bring people together and positively affect the users' well-being and mood. Excited to have you back, Andrew!

Kevin Tran is here a bit longer for his required internship. He will be with us thru December. Also a Fort Wayne native, Kevin is a 4th year architecture student at Ball State. He is enjoying the collaboration within the work group and looks forward to gaining experience in process and design.

Ribbon cutting for new Lawrence Lodge at YMCA Camp Potawatomi this week! We are excited to be a part of this camp expansion and look forward to working with the YMCA donors, campers, staff, and community to create future improvements that will make the camping experience for so many kids that much more enjoyable! Grinsfelder Associates Architects was founded in 1965. Our founder, Alan Grinsfelder, is currently being honored for his creativity in architecture and art at an exhibition at the Congregation Achduth Vesholom on Old Mill Road. On November 24, a reception featured a panel discussion and exhibits for the public to experience. If you missed it, the community can also view the exhibits on December 7th and 8th, 1-4 PM.

Alan's creativity is on display, both his architectural contributions to the midwest region and his artistry through painting. As PFW's oldest "non-traditional" student, Alan is continuing to grow as an artist while interacting and influencing the other students around him. His bold colors and geometric designs reflect his personality.

Grinsfelder Architects is proud to have served this community for the past 60 years.
