🚨🚨PSA for ALL homeowners --- this is long, but PLEASE READ!
We had an elderly gentleman call us yesterday asking where his seals were, stating that we had been out a few weeks ago and collected a deposit but never returned. After further communication and investigation, this customer fell victim to a scam. The exact same “company” scammed one of our customers at our sister company, Mike's Garage Door, back in September. Both customers genuinely thought they had called a real garage door company after googling us. The gentlemen yesterday requested to take a picture of the "service tech's" driver's license (pictured below)
This “company” is somehow hacking phone numbers and posing as a Garage Door Service company, never going by the same name or calling from the same phone number. Members of our team called the 800 # on the work order below and were able to talk to a person that spoke very broken English. They could not, and would not, tell us what city/state they were in, simply saying that they were “a mobile service.” If you look closely at the service ticket, they have misspelled words and calling out incorrect parts.
We were able to call the 800 # from a different line and request service. We had several different people call us back all from different area codes – (317) – (404) – (646) and (260)
We notified the local police department, and they are taking it from here with our customer.
These scammers are not only charging ridiculous amounts for necessary services, they are charging the same outrageous prices for unnecessary services.
🛑PLEASE DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THESE SCAMS🛑
Also, please do not be fooled by flashy signs, high-priced advertising, and commercials everywhere. There’s a reason these companies can afford to do all of that….because they are overcharging YOU ---- the customer. In our experience, these companies prey on the elderly, the single women, the ones that they think they can trick and use high-pressure scare tactics to sell you right on the spot. Tell your family, friends, and everyone you know!
📢 A double spring change should NEVER cost $800 or more
📢 Replacing your seals on a 16 x 7 door should NEVER cost $900
📢 A gear kit should NEVER cost $300 or more
If you are EVER in doubt, please call us for a second opinion. We are transparent and honest; any reputable garage door company will be. We will tell you our prices. Even if you don’t use us, we will tell you the realistic cost range of your service call or replacement.
When you call us, it is a service call NOT a sales call!
