Construction is nearing completion at North Grove Apartments, and we are on track to wrap up early this Fall! 🍂

This 146,000-square-foot mixed-use development features two 3-story buildings that form a U-shaped structure that frames a vibrant central courtyard. This outdoor oasis features a resort-style pool, splash pad, grill areas, and generous landscaping.

Inside, the complex offers high-end 1- and 2-bedroom residential apartments on the upper floors and a dynamic ground floor that is mixed-use. The street level will house residential apartments as well as restaurants and retail, a fitness center, a clubhouse, community rooms, and covered parking. This thoughtful layout creates a walkable complex for residents that fosters community, local convenience, and modern living.

We are incredibly grateful to design another project in Waxahachie and to support this beautifully growing community. We can’t wait to see this space come to life in just a few short months! 🏗️✨

The structure is the embellishment. 🏛️

At TMA Architects, we pride ourselves on using more than one material on the exterior of the buildings we design. This variation of materials serves to bring a larger building down to a more approachable and welcoming human scale.

In addition, we use all natural exterior materials. Whether it is stone, brick, wood, metal, or glass, the textures of the materials serve to create interest and embellishment, while their natural tones create the color scheme.

Sometimes we lean into subtle, tonal variations; other times, we celebrate high-contrast combinations. By letting natural materials dictate the palette, we feel it brings out the true glory of a building's beauty.

What materials are inspiring you lately?

Fort Worth MedSpa: Throwback Thursday

Years ago, we had the privilege of designing Fort Worth MedSpa and Quad Four Surgery Center (ASC) for Dr. Robert Anderson.
When their practice expanded to welcome Dr. Tony Daniels to the team, they called us back to design and manage the remodel and expansion of the facility.

Designing a surgery center requires balancing two distinct worlds: meeting strict, complex surgical regulations and creating a calm, high-end aesthetic clinical environment for patients.

We are proud to have supported Dr. Anderson and Dr. Daniels in growing their practice with a functional, beautiful space built to serve our community for years to come.

New Potential For Old Structures: Have you noticed a building in disrepair and wondered if it could have a second chance?

Our Alston Avenue project in the Fairmount neighborhood is a prime example of this potential. We took a foreclosed building—previously eight unusable efficiency units—and reorganized the structure into four high-quality 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom units. To honor the neighborhood’s scale, we added a front porch, a gazebo mail kiosk, and wooden fencing that mirrors the local historical character.

A portion of this building now serves as our own TMA Architects office. We frequently partner with business owners across the Metroplex to turn "run-down" properties into high-performing assets. Whether you are looking for a unique office or a strategic real estate investment, refurbishing existing "bones" offers a service to the neighborhood as well as quicker time to occupancy and higher equity gain.

Don't rule out a property in disrepair—it might just be your next great investment.

New drive-through restaurant at 4733 Camp Bowie 👏

TMA has designed a new drive-through restaurant located at 4733 Camp Bowie in Fort Worth. This new building will feature a convenient drive-thru, an outdoor counter for To-Go orders, and expanded outdoor seating.

This new location blends modern functionality with the iconic historic atmosphere on this part of town.

We are honored to collaborate with the owners on this project and can’t wait for the Fort Worth community to experience this beloved addition to the neighborhood.

Padel Ball is coming to Northeast Fort Worth! 🏓

We are thrilled to announce that our new project, a Padel Ball Court, has received permit and will be ready for play in just six months! We are proud to have worked with Seba at Seba Spaces for the interior design, ensuring the environment is as vibrant as the game itself.

If you are new to the sport, Padel Ball is an engaging and fun-filled blend of tennis and squash that is accessible to all skill levels. Played in doubles, the glass court walls allow for social connection across the courts, and the game never stops at the line. Because Padel Ball allows you to chase balls outside of the court, the game becomes a fluid, interactive experience for both players and onlookers. Padel is taking the U.S. by storm, so get ready to play Fort Worth! We will see you on the court!

On The Boards: 🏗️ New Industrial Storage Facility and Remodel for AAR

Many of our projects are with repeat clients whom we have continued to work with for decades. AAR is one of our industrial clients that have contracted us to design multiple additions and remodeling projects. Over the last few years, this includes the addition of the new visitor’s entrance, a focal point for the entire complex, a 6,000 sq ft addition for shops and equipment marshalling areas, and an 800 sq ft addition to house testing equipment. On the boards now for AAR is a new 3,000 sq ft addition purely for storage and the remodeling of an existing 15,000 sq ft shop building.

🐾 Specialized Architecture for Animals

Looking back at our portfolio, The Pet Resort and Animal Hospital at Haslet remains a standout example of how specialized architectural design can elevate animal care.

🏗️ Why Veterinary Architecture Matters
Designing for animals requires a unique set of solutions—from acoustics and odor control to stress-reducing layouts. For this 7,633 SF facility, we focused on:

🐕 - Innovative Climate Control: We integrated an environmentally-friendly mechanical system featuring a "ventilation tower." By acting as a natural chimney, it reduces reliance on traditional HVAC while ensuring a constant flow of fresh air to all the indoor kennels.
🦮 - A Multi-Functional Layout: The design balances a medical wing (including three exam rooms, X-ray, and surgery suites) with a luxury pet resort, grooming salon, and specialized indoor play areas for dogs of all sizes.
🐩 - Thoughtful Materials: Using stone, siding, and stucco, we created a durable structure that feels both professional and residential, welcoming clients and their pets into a calming environment.

We take pride in designing spaces that support the well-being of animals and the efficiency of the teams who care for them.

Need another location for your medical practice? TMA architects can help

Many medical practices operate across multiple locations, and we take pride in supporting our clients as they develop and expand their practice locations in Texas.

One example of this partnership is our work with Fort Worth Heart, for whom TMA has designed four buildings over the years, including an ASC and three specialized clinics.

For their South Fort Worth clinic—a 6,880 SF facility completed in 2017—our goal was to deliver a well-designed, price-efficient, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff.

We achieved this through:
- Strategic layout that serves the daily operational workflow
- A calming patient experience: large scale tiles on the entry wall and waiting room floor instill patient confidence the moment they walk in the door. Within the large waiting area, we designed “nooks” to allow for privacy and a sense of calm, and ceiling "clouds" add visual interest and help manage acoustics
- Elegant, well-priced, and durable materials that stand the test of time

Nearly 10 years later, this location remains a high-functioning and busy location for the practice, proving that smart design stands the test of time.

TMA Architects Has Moved! 🏗️📍

After 15 incredible years in our Pennsylvania Office—a space we were honored to design and call home—it was time for a new chapter. While saying goodbye to a building we designed and built from the ground up is bittersweet, we didn’t wander far!

We are officially settled into our new home just off Magnolia and still on the Near Southside, a beautiful building that TMA renovated over 10 years ago and just spent the last few months updating to create our new offices.

What we love about the new spot:
• Historic Character: A thoughtful renovation that celebrates the architectural roots of the neighborhood.
• Prime Location: We’re just a short stroll away from the vibrant energy of Magnolia Avenue.
• The Perks: Our team is already taking full advantage of the incredible coffee shops and restaurants nearby for lunch breaks and brainstorm sessions.

We are so proud to remain a staple of the Fort Worth community and can’t wait to see what the next 15 years bring in this new space.

Come say hi if you’re in the neighborhood! ☕️✨
