A small bathroom exhaust fan issue turned into an important upgrade for this home. The old vent wasn’t working properly, was too small for the opening, and had no ductwork connected—meaning moisture was being pushed into the attic instead of outside. We removed the old unit, installed a new exhaust fan, repaired the surrounding drywall, ran new ductwork to the soffit so the bathroom now vents the right way, and added insulation above the new fan since the old one had blown the insulation out of place. Another clean, functional improvement done right!

The French drain originally ended next to the sidewalk, which caused water to collect in the area. We extended the drain under the sidewalk and all the way to the street to improve water flow and help prevent standing water in the drain.

This update gives rainwater a clear, direct path away from the property—reducing puddling, helping prevent slick sidewalks, improving drainage performance, and protecting the surrounding landscape.

Have you addressed a drainage issue on your property? Share your experience or tips in the comments—we’d be glad to hear what worked for you.

A garage‑to‑house door does more than close off a room — it protects your home from fire, drafts, and unwanted entry.

On this project, the original setup had some serious problems:
• An interior hollow‑core door was installed where a fire‑rated door should’ve been
• The door jamb was broken from someone trying to force their way in
• And surprisingly — there was zero insulation around the old frame

We removed everything and rebuilt it the right way:
• Installed a new fire‑rated metal door with a solid efficiency rating
• Replaced the damaged jamb for proper structure and security
• Added spray‑foam insulation around the frame — a low‑cost item that makes a big difference in energy efficiency
• The new door came pre‑bored for a deadbolt, giving the homeowner a major security boost

Now the entry is safer, stronger, better insulated, and built to code — exactly how it should’ve been from day one
