Teaberry Gardens will be at the Foster Conservation Fair for my first show of the year. Can't wait to see old and new customers. It's been a LONG winter, time to get outside and start enjoying the spring and see what new plants you can add to your garden. You will also find many other vendors as well as the Junk in the Trunk event where everything if FREE keeping so much stuff out of the landfill.

I am not one to give bad reviews about businesses, I don't like one's business for any reason I just move on. However, Johnny Seed Company sell POLLEN LESS sunflower seeds. This is very troubling to me. We should be supporting our wildlife not shortchanging them. Pollinators will waste valuable time attracted to these sunflowers only to find no pollen. Don't know if this is an exclusive of Johnny's Seed or other companies sell them too. Please make sure you don't purchase these varieties, read the description carefully.

Pycnanthemum muticum, with a plethora of pollinators visiting this perennial native you are sure to be entertained by them. Nice to have some late season color and food for the pollinators. Mountain mint, is very fragrant, dries well, great air freshener just hang a bunch in your closet, add to fresh bouquets. I know what your thinking, mint it will take over, it does spread but not crazy like regular mints. You can find these for $6 ea at the Scituate Rotary Farmers Market this Saturday 9am-12pm.

Leucosceptrum japonicum Mountain Madness & leucosceptrum japonicum golden angel, both make a striking statement in your shaded garden, growing to approximately 3’. Mountain madness has light green foliage with splashes of cream color, Golden angle has bright yellowish foliage. Both have creamy white spikes Sept-Oct. You can find these for $6 ea at the Scituate Rotary Farmers Market this Saturday 9am-12pm.

Vernonia missurica growing 3-5’ tall, Vernonia altissima growing 5-7’ tall both have very similar purple blooms in Sept-Oct, both are natives. Plant in a sunny location and enjoy years of amazing blooms which the pollinators will appreciate you planting for them.
