If you follow our farm page, Circle V Farm & Lumber , you'll see the same video posted. I thought it was worth sharing here, too.

Extremely dry conditions can make mulching risky (even if the machine isn't running. iykyk)
But even the most mildly wet conditions can open up for the chance of permanently damaging a Black Belt Prairie restoration site. The soils within the Black Belt Prairie are extremely sensitive. Even the smallest machines could do irreparable damage when wet.

We completely understand wanting to get a job completed. Trust us, a completed job is how we pay our bills. But risking it during the rain just isn't worth the potential harm we could do, and the damaged property a landowner could end up with.

Therefore, when the rain falls, we pause.

Restore. Revive. Renew.
This is how we describe the services that we can provide for you.

Restore a degraded habitat.
Revive a land area with prescribed burning.
Renew your property for a future home site.

We know that the decision to alter your property in any way can be risky, so we don't describe or offer these services lightly.

What makes our cedar logging different?

Every aspect of our logging has a benefit.
First, our method of removal helps the landowners have the trees removed in a cheaper way than through just mulching.
By doing so, this high quality lumber fuels many sawmill businesses all over the southeast.

The way we remove the trees is done first to support Black Belt Prairie restoration. We do so strategically and with the soil in mind.
Additionally, we leave the limbs and tops of the trees to be used as fire later as another step in the Black Belt Prairie restoration process.

Each part of the tree and our process supports habitat maintenance, small businesses, our land owners, and the people and wildlife living in and around the areas.

Down trees and limbs may not "look pretty," but each step serves a purpose.

Check this out! It's so cool knowing that these logs held multiple purposes- their removal supports Black Belt Prairie restoration while getting to be turned into something awesome!

Talk about an arch!

We didn't mill these, obviously, but these were logged as part of Land Revival, LLC and brought to the farm for pick up.

We're incredibly thankful for all of our customers!

We're still adding more resources and information, but we're thrilled with this new look.

Most of our log buyers purchase what we call mixed loads. These loads consist of logs that vary in diameter so that the sawmills can have a range of lumber sizes available for their buyers.

These loads fit the varying needs of the sawmills while fostering adequate removal for Black Belt Prairie restoration. As you can tell by the pictures below, these trees differ in size. However, they worked great for a sawmill to fulfill a custom order while their removal brought a potential prairie site one step closer to being restored.

‼️Calling all deer hunter land owners and lessees ‼️

Now is a great time to get lime on your property, if needed.
Food plots with more acidic soil will not produce as nutrient dense vegetation. Lime helps raise the pH of acidic soil, thereby making the vegetation more nutritious for wildlife. This can be determined through soil testing.

But why now? Lime needs to be spread at least 90 days before planting to impact the soil levels. Doing so now gives most hunters plenty of time to allow the lime to do its job before it's time to do yours planting food plots (or us if you want us to do that, too).

Check out today's job of spreading lime for a landowner in central Alabama.
