Open your cupboard doors to keep your pipes from freezing.
If you have a space heater or other form of backup heat, it wouldn't hurt to use them to give your furnace a break.

In this extreme heat wave, close your blinds, doors and drapes. Try and keep the sunlight out.
Don't use your oven, and cook as little as possible. It's a great reason to go out to eat and support your local restaurants.
Most air conditioners arent keeping up in this extreme heat.
Have your insulation in your attic checked. Never hurts to have more insulation blown in.
Check your filter.
