Once I pulled the rock out I realized that they'd glued the stainless sheet into the brick so I had to cut and patch. I had to remove a support brick and re-install it. Everything was super tight, sharp with jagged grinder edges, and very rusty(they didn't paint anything). Part two

When you go above and beyond it shows. When we see bushes over the heater we know it's going to be extra cleaning. There's cheaper 💰🤑 and faster, but don't choose that over better!
Don't cut corners or use knock off parts.
🎲🎲🎰🎰🎰 don't gamble! Wait for an expert. Carbon monoxide, fire, and lots of shiny expensive parts inside!
These heaters are twice the amount of gas as your home furnace and they can blow up! I've heard. Even I stand back.

If you haven't serviced your heater in a while, it's time.
Last summer we barely needed them but those who know keep up on the maintenance. If it fails, it's always at the worst time.

The fence guys hit the tubing a few years ago and my guys did a repair and it failed.
They had a very faint smell of gas at times so I pressurized it and sure enough, I found a leak. I replaced the couplings again but I made sure they won't leak this time. We did not charge for that since we are honorable- even after four years... I want all everyone to take ownership and responsibility. It's the right thing to do. It makes a difference.

Don't live dangerously, and don't take chances on buying a used pool heater from a homeowner. They Never know what they're selling- good or bad.
I'm a repair tech with over 25yrs in the business.
This heater had two years of use when the customer messed up the chemicals. The heat exchanger got calcified, meaning, they had too high of PH, and it clogged up. The heat exchanger burnt out and the cost was not something the customer could justify. They had us install another heater for over $3,500.
I took 1,500 of those dollars, and reinvested it in this heater. It did not leak inside! That's important to know.
I replaced only the heat exchanger, the ignitor, and the 5' 120v standard outlet powercord. It pulls less than 4 amps. It needs 150,000btu's. Minimum gas line size is 1" pipe up to 150 feet away from gas meter.
I offer installation services of gas piping and water hoses/ pvc for additional charge.
If we install the heater we will deliver it.
Local pickup only at my storage unit by
Rte 31 and Bull Valley Rd.
I work crazy hours so i'm only available on weekends for pickup.
All work is guaranteed.And if the heater is installed correctly, I guarantee it to work or I will come to your house- This at home service would be limited to a visit within twenty miles of pickup location in Mchenry, Illinois.

The old heater was a tank (Hi-E2) and had pvc for both the vent and air intake. It weighs over 300lbs!
The new one is a Jandy Jxiq. It required Cat III stainless pipe. That is an expensive material but it will last forever.
Now for the "who did it" part of my story.

The previous heater vented closer to the ground where they pile the snow from the driveway. It can get buried and blocked exhaust is carbon monoxide.
The other bad idea was the furnace vent was under the deck. Lots of moisture trapped under the deck. The air intakes for both the furnace and pool heater were under the deck pulling in the moist acidic air. But I'm sure it made for a spooky scene on Halloween!

We made sure the extend the vents past the house so the gasses can get far away.
Finally, we always put in condensate traps on heaterxs used year round. That's essential to keeping them in service for a long life.
