It may look like this tree is fine, but SUBTLE is the name for symptoms of possible decline in this large White Oak (Quercus alba).
Over two years, branch tips are showing dieback very slightly, only a few inches at the tips.
Several larger fungal fruiting bodies are on roots located by the street.
Epicormic (suckers) growth are at two preciously removed limbs where they meet the trunk.
Overall lead load was observed to be less this year than last.
What can we do to help it out?
Starting with a list of symptoms, we will get a soil Sample checking macro and micro elements for content as well as pH.
The correct pH for a given species allows it to grab nutrients from the soil. Without the correct pH, nothing can improve.
We will prune the dead branch tips properly to allow the tree to focus it's energy on healthy growth.
We will possibly, according to the sample results, perform a process called Vertical Mulching where we use our Air Spade digging tool to directly place organic material to enrich the soil and alleviate compaction into the tree root system.
