Let's applaud the real star of the CAPA Summer Movie Series: the "Mighty Morton" organ! 👏

Arrive early for pre-show entertainment 30 minutes before each screening on the Ohio Theatre's treasured "Mighty Morton" theatre organ, presented by Ice Miller.

Following the 2025 CAPA Summer Movie Series, the Mighty Morton's organ console will be carefully transported to a team of expert restorers in Indiana. The goal: bring Morton back to life in time for the 2026 CAPA Summer Movie Series, stronger and more sonorous than ever.

With the onset of summer, we recommend maintaining a consistent temperature in your sanctuary to ensure the organ remains in harmonious tune.

We had a deadline to get all of the bigger parts of the organ into the chambers though the second floor of the backstage and in the chambers from the organ grills. I say we certainly met that task and even more!!! This takes a huge amount of effort and everyone involved made it happen.
First off thanks to the ODU maintenance staff and grounds crew. They had no idea what they were getting into and are all excited about what the Wurlitzer will do.
As always we have to thank our talented staff for their efforts. Justin Krasowski, Alvaro Hernandez, Jaret Schroeder and Glenn Tallar.
We had a great pleasure working along with JC Wilson & Associates and Kenny Pipe Organs Associates LLC.
One nice surprise was working with Richie Gregory. We know he shows great interest and was great to work with.
For now beings the slower pace of making new uprights, winding, and wiring runs.

Did you know? The organ has been played before approximately 1,000 films during the Summer Movie Series.

Only 4 Robert Morton Organs were built of this size. Our Mighty Morton is the single one remaining in its original home that we can verify.

This summer, the "Mighty Morton" Theatre Organ is presented by Ice Miller.

We are so proud to have a close relationship with CAPA and with the CSO to be in charge of regular maintenance and tuning of the mighty Robert Morton organ at the beautiful Ohio Theater.

Acclaimed musician Cameron Carpenter will play the Ohio Theatre's 'Mighty Morton' organ in concert with the Columbus Symphony Friday and Saturday.
