“My heater is leaking; should I repair or replace it?”
If it is leaking from a pipe or valve, you might be able to replace that part and continue using the heater for years to come. But if it is leaking from the tank itself, that means the internals are compromised and no amount of repair work will solve the problem.

Early next week, the low temperatures will be in the 20s. You will be using more hot water because the cold water mixed in your faucets will be so much colder, so to ensure your tank water heater provides enough hot water for your needs, turn its thermostat up a little. If you need more hot water from your tankless heater and it is set to 130+ degrees, turn it down to get more hot water.

The colder weather means your water heater must work harder to keep up with your demand. If your tank heater is not keeping up with your usage, increase the temperature by 10 degrees or so. That will give you some extra minutes of showering! If your tankless heater is not supplying enough hot water, lower the temperature, and you will probably see an increase in its supply.
