Spring is the perfect time to give your lawn a fresh start! 🌱

Core aeration helps relieve soil compaction, allowing air, water, and nutrients to reach deep into the root system where they’re needed most. This leads to stronger roots, thicker turf, and a healthier, more resilient lawn overall.

Benefits of aeration include:
✔️ Improved water absorption
✔️ Stronger root growth
✔️ Reduced thatch buildup
✔️ Greener, thicker grass

If your lawn looks tired, struggles with drainage, or gets heavy foot traffic, aeration can make a huge difference.

Give your yard the boost it needs this season

🌱 Zoysia Patience Pays Off 🌱

If your zoysia lawn still looks slow or patchy right now, don’t panic — that’s completely normal! Zoysia is a warm-season grass, and it naturally takes longer to come out of dormancy compared to other grasses, it also stays green longer then other turf grass in fall.

Here’s why:
✅ Zoysia waits for consistent warm soil temperatures before greening up
✅ It focuses on root strength first, not quick top growth
✅ Slow spring green-up = better drought tolerance and durability all summer long

💡 What you can do now:
• Avoid overwatering

• Be patient and let nature do its thing

Trust the process — even if your neighbors lawns are green once zoysia wakes up, it fills in thick, dense, and beautiful 🌿
Good lawns take time, great lawns take patiencenee e

🌧️ Warmer days are right around the corner, and that means it’s time to get your irrigation system ready for the growing season! Before you start watering regularly, a proper spring startup and calibration can save you money, water, and headaches all season long.

✔️ Check for leaks, broken heads, and winter damage
✔️ Make sure coverage is even across your lawn
✔️ Calibrate your system so you’re not over- or under-watering (tuna cans work great if you don’t have a rain gauge)
✔️ Set smart run times based on spring weather and grass needs

❗️1 to 1.5 inches of water per week,(all at once or twice a week to reach 1.5 inch) including rainfall is a great base line. This can change as the summer heat sets in. Deep and infrequent is very important!

❗️Frequently watering will cause short shallow roots that become an issue in summer months, as well as fungus and w**d outbreak

A well-calibrated irrigation system means a healthier, greener lawn and lower water bills. 🌿
Now is the perfect time to get ahead before the spring rush hits

🌱 Why Your Lawn Might Need Lime 🌱

If your lawn wasn’t as green or thick as you’d like last season, the problem might not be fertilizer — it could be soil pH. That’s where lime comes in!

✅ Why add lime?
• Lime reduces soil acidity and balances pH
• Helps unlock nutrients
• Improves lawn color, thickness, and root growth- boosting fertilizer efficiency
• Increased resistance to w**ds, pests, and diseases
• Encourages healthier soil and stronger turf overall by balancing soil chemistry and reducing toxicity in lawn

📅 When should you apply lime?
• Best times are winter and fall
• While lime can be added year round winter and fall gives time to break down into the soil for the season

⚠️ Pro tip: More isn’t always better! Only apply lime if your soil pH is low — over-liming can cause problems too. Soil must be tested first

A little lime at the right time can make a big difference in your lawn’s health! 🌿💪

Armadillos Digging Up Lawns?

If you’ve noticed small holes or torn-up patches in your yard, armadillos are likely passing through—not because they want your grass, but because they’re hunting food. Armadillos dig for soil-dwelling insects living beneath the surface. We’ve received numerous calls this week about holes in lawns after inspecting multiple service areas we’ve found the root cause— mole crickets.

💡 The key point:
No insects = no reason for armadillos to stick around.

By using a targeted insecticide treatment, you can eliminate the mole crickets and insects in your lawn. When the food source is gone, armadillos naturally move on to other areas—without the need for trapping.

✔️ Protects your lawn
✔️ Addresses the root cause
✔️ Encourages wildlife to relocate naturallly

🌱 Burw**d (sticker w**d)🌱

Burw**d might look small and harmless right now, but don’t be fooled—this winter w**d packs a painful punch later on! As temperatures warm up, burw**d develops sharp, spiny burs that can stick into shoes, pet paws, bike tires, and bare feet.

👉 Why you should act now:
• It spreads quickly in lawns and fields
• The burs are painful and hard to remove
• Early treatment is much easier and more effective

The best time to control burw**d is before it flowers and forms burs. A healthy lawn, proper mowing, and timely w**d control can save you a lot of trouble (and foot pain) later on.

If you’re already seeing it pop up, now’s the time to take action—your feet, pets, and yard will thank you!

🌱 Why Apply Pre-Emergent Before Spring? 🌱

If you want a healthier, greener lawn this year, timing matters! Applying a pre-emergent before spring is key because it stops w**ds before they even sprout. Once w**ds pop up, it’s already too late for pre-emergent to work effectively.

✔️ Prevents crabgrass and other summer w**ds
✔️ Reduces the need for post-emergent sprays later
✔️ Gives your grass a head start without competition

Think of pre-emergent like a protective shield for your lawn. Apply it early, and let spring growth focus on grass—not w**ds! 🌿

🚨 Seeing green patches in your lawn starting to flower?🚨

Poa annua (annual bluegrass) one of the most stubborn and fast-spreading winter w**ds homeowners deal with as it does not play by the rules becoming resistant to pre-emergents and herbicides.

🌱 Why Poa annua is a problem:
• It grows faster than your turf, making your lawn look uneven
• It produces tons of seeds, so it comes back stronger every year
• It dies off in temps above 85 degrees, leaving thin, ugly bare spots behind in spring

The bad news? Cold weather will not harm it. Once you see it, it’s already spreading.
The good news? It can be controlled with the right treatment at the right time.
