As we are wrapping up 2022, I want to say thank you to all of you for supporting Loon + Lark! I wasn't sure that it would actually ever happen to get this business launched this year (or ever!) and I am very grateful.

As a small business owner, I have become painfully aware of how easy it is to shop at the big box stores and ignore the small businesses. We are all busy, and it is so easy to get sucked into the fast-free-shipping-same-day-pickup magic. I tried harder this year myself to shop from other small businesses and I am not kidding you when I say I got some of the BEST gifts from small businesses just like mine!

So, I'm going to drop some links for some of the people/places/businesses that helped me complete my shopping lists this holiday season.

And I would LOVE it if you did the same! Drop your favorite small businesses in the comments!

I want to know what small business you supported. I want to know why you think they are awesome. I want to see photos of what you got! Even if you didn't purchase from small businesses this year, I want to know which business you've been thinking about purchasing from!

Just over here working on an order listening to some music. I haven't officially launched the website yet but I made some snack bags for someone last winter and they loved them enough to re-order with me! I can't wait to open the website so I can share these with you all soon!

Hello hello!

Yesterday I had a meeting with my amazing brand designer/web designer - shout out to Haven 33 Creative ! I got to see the initial layout for my website. It is SO AWESOME! I can't wait until everything is ready to share with you all!

I have a "to do" list to start knocking out the next steps leading up to our official launch, so I'm busy over here with behind the scenes stuff. I've never owned a business before AND I'm a research ju**ie so it's going to take a little while because I'm learning as I go. Thanks for hanging out, liking and sharing my page and posts, and waiting patiently for this thing to launch! It's going to be great. I can feel it.

Here's a sneak peek of one of my favorite prints in action! Yep, I try out all of the products I make. I want to be certain they are worthy of my customers' hard earned money! I keep the ones that aren't perfect (notice the print is upside down on this one :D ) and use them at home. Perfect for transporting grapes for a "car snack" as my kid calls it!

Hello to all! First of all I want to thank you in advance for supporting my small business. I have gone down many many paths trying to figure out what brings me joy and how to make it my job. While I don’t think there is any ONE right answer to that question, this business is the first milestone towards that goal.

I wanted to share a little bit about myself, because who I am drives how I run my business.
So, here we go!

My name is Kelsey. I am from Minnesota originally and have bounced around to a few other states but I recently ended up in Colorado with my husband and our kid. I have spent most of my adult life as a bartender and while there are many things that I LOVE about this industry, it is also one that I don’t feel is sustainable for the life/lifestyle that I live and want to live. I could talk for days and days about my love/hate relationship with the bar business, but the long and short of it is that being my own boss is my dream! I want to be able to make my own hours so that I can experience my own life and my kid’s life while we are all young, healthy, and able.

A few things I am passionate about (besides my kid - she’s always #1): sewing, traveling, hiking, learning, and being kind to the earth.

I will be posting links to blog posts as my website launches and I will expand on how all of these passions shape my business. I will share tips/tricks/failures on my own journey to become less wasteful. I will accept knowledge, feedback, and constructive criticism from you all.

I am currently sewing, creating, typing, collaborating, and getting everything ready for my website to launch soon - so please keep an eye out for that. I can’t wait to update you all and I hope that you all will join me in an effort to be less wasteful in a way that is accessible to everyone, no matter where you are on your journey.
