Who knew these little glass yogurt jars would be so handy. They make the perfect little vases for these sweet & tiny flower arrangements. Chamomile has quickly become one of my favorites flowers. I love how dainty the flowers are and they add so much cheer to my kitchen.

I add these glass jars to my bottle drying rack. It is so fun to change out the flowers and create a whole new look!

Any opportunity I get, I would much rather support a small business than a big box store. I have been hunting for somewhere to source my candles. One thing that is important to me is for my candles to be clean burning and free of toxins. I came across Oak Street Candles and was so impressed by Stacy and her products.

Don’t skip the bed linens at the thrift store! I LOVE to use flat sheets as fabric for all kinds of projects around my home. I simply wash them up and then get to work!

My sewing abilities are, let’s just say, limited, so I have to be creative sometimes when I want to make something but don’t really have the sewing skills for it. Enter my handy glue gun!

Here is what I made so far with my thrifted sheet:
- Americana bow garland
- Pleaded lampshade
- Large fabric bow ( I have big plans for this, stay tuned, I’ll be sharing them with you soon!)

I believe I paid 3 dollars for this sheet and I still have tons of fabric left!

Life is too short not to have fun with creating a home. Try new things. You can always change something if you don’t like it. I used to shy away from using color in my home. But lately, I have been loving bringing in some pops of red and yellow with my blue and white.

Adding colors looks different for everyone and that’s ok. Some like more, others less. Some like bright colors, others like muted. Sometimes it is fun to step outside the box a bit and that is what I have been trying to do in my home. Mix patterns and colors and just make our home a happy place to be.

My advice? Try something new in your home. Add some color (in a way that feels right to you) and have some fun in your home this summer!

If creating a home that is fun, cozy, lived in and comfortable are things you enjoy, I hope you will stay a while here!

Here is a look back at May, as we welcome June today.

Hard to believe June is already here and in just a few weeks it will officially be summer.

My garden is just about finished, I have a few seeds to get in the ground this week. I already have a bunch of flowers popping up! I can hardly wait for all the flowers to be in full bloom.

It’s been an absolutely lovely week in Corolla, NC.
We are staying on the 4x4 beach in Carova and we plan to come back again next year because we enjoyed it so much.

The wild horses are gorgeous and it’s so neat to see them playing down in the waves. They just do their own thing and totally ignore the people. There are some foals too, which is so sweet to see.

Spending time with family is always time well spent.

Summer is making its way into my home! While I love Christmas time, summer is my favorite time of year. I love the sunshine, warm weather, relaxed feeling and my flower garden.

We are actually in Corolla, NC for the week and I sure hope the sun comes out and we can enjoy the beach!
