Big milestone on our Lake remodel! 💪
The drywall is finally hung, mudded, and taped. It's awesome seeing this project really start to come together.
What used to be a screened-in porch now looks like it was always meant to be there—it's transformed into two brand-new rooms, including a new bedroom and bathroom. Every stage gets us one step closer to the finished product.
Stay tuned... the finish work is where it really starts to come alive. 🔨🏡

Big day for Kelley Co Contracting 💪🏽🏠
After nearly 4 months of planning, demolition, framing, and prep work, we’re finally installing the new windows and doors on this remodel project. This is one of those stages where the vision really starts coming to life and the entire feel of the home changes.
A lot of long days, coordination, and hard work have gone into getting to this point, and we’re proud to see it all finally coming together. Excited to keep pushing forward and bring this project across the finish line the right way.

A lot of people think once the concrete wall is poured, the hard part is over. Truth is — what goes around the foundation matters just as much as the wall itself.
One of the biggest mistakes we see on failed foundations is improper backfilling. Clay packed tight against a wall, poor drainage, no clean rock, and water sitting against concrete year after year. That pressure adds up.
We got called out this morning to look at a foundation that’s only around 30 years old with several major cracks. Most of the damage could’ve been prevented with proper drainage and backfill practices from day one.
Here’s why clean rock and proper grading matter:
• Clean rock allows water to drain DOWN and AWAY instead of building pressure against the wall
• It reduces hydrostatic pressure that pushes on the concrete over time
• It helps prevent freeze/thaw expansion during winter months
• It protects waterproofing and helps foundations last decades longer
• A gentle slope away from the home keeps surface water from pooling around the structure
Concrete is strong — but constant water pressure and expanding soil will eventually win if drainage isn’t handled correctly.
At Kelley Co we believe doing the unseen work right matters just as much as the finished product you see above ground.
Foundations aren’t something you want to do twice.
