Sunday Funday 💙 I love this framing detail work with the beaboard around the window, I think the client will too!

When we say “all hands on deck”, we mean ALL hands on deck 🤭 Don’t worry, child labor is not part of our standard business model!! But when you’re a true family business, sometimes everyone wants to be part of the action.

Our projects this week are still in that awkward middle stage where the magic hasn’t fully appeared yet. For one project, we are installing a 3/4 beadboard accent wall and adding a full beadboard feature wall to create a unique alcove space with a little extra character and charm!

No dramatic before-and-after reveal just yet, but we promise the hard work happening behind the scenes will be worth the wait 💙💛

Paperwork has been a lot slower lately because the whole crew has been out putting in the hours helping our neighbors transform their homes! 💙💛

We truly are a family business around here, so when projects pile up, everybody ends up jumping in somewhere! Somehow how I (sole handyWOMAN) ended up doing physical labor this time!

This walk-in closet is getting a full glow-up and honestly, it’s time. The 1990’s wallpaper and mauve pink carpet had a solid run, but we’re bringing this space into the current century one sore muscle at a time. Can’t wait to show the transformation. Wish me luck 💗

All hands on deck as we kick off this bathroom remodel! 🛠️

This project is inspired by a classic English “Secret Garden” aesthetic with a proper vintage British feel. Think soft sage tones, buttery cream accents, beadboard details, elegant scrollwork, and timeless design elements. The goal is to create a bathroom that feels updated and functional while still carrying that old-world cottage charm.

Demo may be messy, but the vision on this one is AMAZING!! Excited to bring it to life and share the progress along the way!

From basic to custom stairs 🛠️

This loyal client had standard beige carpet on both staircases in their split-level home. They really wanted something with a little more personality and contrast. They provided an inspiration photo and we helped bring the vision to life! We used a plush gray carpet tread paired with driftwood-tone LVP risers for a clean two-texture finish. This stair transformation added a modern, elevated look 💙

Big congratulations to the Gahanna Lincoln Class of 2026! 🎓💙💛

Today is a huge day for so many families in our community. We know there are proud parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, coaches, and friends all celebrating the graduates walking across that stage today.

We figured it was the perfect time to share a few throwbacks of some of our own family grads who are part of the Gahanna Alumni community. Hard to believe how fast the years go!

No matter where life takes you next, college, trades, work, military, or still figuring it out as you go… we are proud of you and excited to see what comes next for this generation!

Yesterday took the crew back inside for LVP installation. Hallways always keep things interesting with all the cuts, transitions, and “measure twice, crawl around 47 times” moments!

Today they’re tackling a really cool stair refinishing project combining LVP and carpet. Can’t wait to show the transformation on this one, pics coming soon! 💙

We recently completed three custom hardscape support areas for a client using natural-shaped paver stones to keep everything functional while still blending into the yard naturally.

🪨 A reinforced pad area for trash cans.
🪨 A backyard walkway to help with high-traffic spots and poor grass growth.
🪨 A clean entry area outside the shed for better footing and less mud/dirt tracking.

These natural stone pavers gave the spaces a more finished look while solving some practical drainage and wear issues at the same time! The guys felt like cavemen hauling stones all day, but the client gave them an A++ 🤭

New 29’ section of seamless gutter being installed, along with downspout replacements, and extensions to improve water flow!

One year ago today, we officially rebranded from Gahanna HandymAn to Gahanna HandymEn 🛠️ Looking back now, it’s wild how much one little letter ended up meaning 💙

That shift wasn’t just a name change, it marked the moment we became fully family-owned and operated. What started as a partnership, evolved into us building something together as a family. Long days, late nights, and pouring everything we had into creating a business we could truly stand behind!

This month also reminds us of the responsibility that comes with that. Renewing our general contracting license, maintaining bond payments, keeping insurance certificates current, and making sure everything is in place so both our family and yours are protected while we continue this journey. The paperwork side may not be glamorous, but doing things the right way matters to us!
