Our Team is on 🔥! Another Project Completed!

Monarch is excited to share one of recent projects that was started in early July, ’21, and was recently - Greenfield Preschool, which included a and of approx. 5,750 SQFT.

Among many , our approached this in to allow the preschool to remain open. Additionally, our team successfully converted an existing classroom into a new kitchen & storage room, relocated office to provide space, and added two compliant restrooms.

We’d like to extend a special “Thank You” to Jayme and Mike Tate for providing Monarch the opportunity to work on this project. Additional thanks go out to Campbell Spellicy Engineering, Inc., which conducted Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing, Gregory Wayland with Wayland Structural Engineering, and Contractor Joe Hoffman with Hoffman Construction Inc.

Another project in the books ✔️

We are proud that we, alongside Trimark Properties and Ryan Prodesky, Owner, rebuilt the Gainesville Icon, The Swamp Restaurant

Because the original building was so well recognized in the Gainesville community, our goal was to preserve the existing, memorable ambiance while enhancing the charming characteristics that guests remember the most. Specifically, The Swamp Restaurant now features a larger kitchen, a bigger patio and even an elevator!

We are happy to say we accomplished our goal with this project, but couldn’t have done it without some help!

We’d like to extend a special thank you to Domenic Scorpio of Scorpio., Robert Walpole, of CHW Professional Consultants, Gregory Wayland, Owner of Wayland Structural Engineering, Kevin Spellicy, Campbell Spellicy Engineering, and of course, our amazing team!

Learn about some of our completed and projects: City of Alachua’s City Hall and Police Station

We partnered with the City of to design and construct the new face for the city with their side-by-side City Hall and Police Station, which are positioned on a scenic sloping lawn accompanied by two landscaped ponds. With welcoming verandahs alongside the pedestrian-friendly and park-like space, the exterior of the building embraces the traditional styles of the city while incorporating the future. The buildings contain plenty of office space as well as City Hall’s 150-seat Commission Chamber.

To ensure long-term usability and limit maintenance, both buildings use a combination of masonry, steel construction, and metal roof systems. We integrated the needs and wants of the City of Alachua to create one-of-a-kind buildings with style and efficiency.

Team Member Spotlight: Adam Baumgartner, Construction Team Leader

Mr. Baumgartner, as Project Manager at Monarch Design Group, coordinates the crucial details of architectural projects, paperwork, and meetings between clients and architects. Drawing on his experience within the construction industry as a project manager and operation manager, he understands how each detail builds to a quality project. Mr. Baumgartner works alongside clients and coworkers to ensure that every project meets the approved plans, building codes, job schedules, and financial targets.

Integrated into every project that he interacts with is a commitment
to excellence, communication, and creativity. Mr. Baumgartner has an
eye for design that he’s used on projects in Ohio as well as Florida.
Throughout his career, he has built and maintained working relationships with subcontractors, supervised project managers and field technicians, and met with clients to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction.

Team Member Spotlight: David Robinson, Building Information Modeler

Mr. Robinson joined Monarch Design Group as a BIM Tech, bringing a desire to incorporate his construction management experience into the architectural industry. With hands-on experience in construction work such as framing, siding, roof work, and installations, he is adept at understanding the details of every project. Mr. Robinson has also produced two project manuals, which aids his comprehension of the many aspects of a building project.

Team Member Spotlight: Paolo Perez, Interior Design Project Manager

Paola V. Perez, Monarch Design Group Interior Specialist, demonstrates a commitment to creative professional work in everything she does. Through her experience, she implemented new design concepts, visual presentations, and client communication. She loves partnering with clients to create interior designs that match their vision while working within their budget requirements to maximize client satisfaction. Ms. Perez is experienced in multiple software programs including Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, iWork, and Office. She speaks Spanish, English, and some Portuguese. With every project, Ms. Perez prioritizes exceptional communication, problem solving, and a team player mentality.

Take a look at one of our most recent projects coming to life! Construction has begun on this 3,500 square foot building at the 2600 block of NW 13 Street. The property will be the future home of two restaurant tenants. It will be located just in front of the Ross and Burlington shopping plaza.
