20 years ago this past week, we said "I do." ❤️

Somewhere between that first picture and our latest selfie, we've raised a family, built a business, survived countless shelter installs, projects, deadlines, road trips, and maybe a few arguments over where to eat. 😆

Looking back at that first photo, we had no idea what all was ahead of us. Looking at us now, we're a little older, a little wiser, and maybe a little more tired—but we're still laughing, still dreaming, and still building a life together.

Happy 20th Anniversary to us, best friends, travel partners, and business partners. ❤️

Cooke County, this is for you!!! These grants are usually used up very quickly!! We will try to stay on top of it all and let you know when it opens up!! This is HUGE!!!

Excited to share the good news with you all - Cooke County has been awarded a new Storm Shelter/Safe Room Rebate Grant from FEMA that will be open to all homeowners of Cooke County. The Commissioners Court has approved and signed the award letter today which means it will not be long before our program is available. We ask for patience as we put the finishing touches on our program and we hope to have this ready for launch in the first week of June. Stay tuned for updates and we will ensure that the program launch is communicated across every possible outlet.

In the meantime, this is a good time for those interested in participating in this program to start familiarizing themselves with the eligibility requirements and processes of the program. Our neighbors in Grayson County Emergency Management have already launched their program and you can find many of the same materials on the eligibility requirements as we will have. Go to https://www.co.grayson.tx.us/page/oem.saferoomprogram to get a good idea of what this program will look like and how it will work (but PLEASE DO NOT apply for their program or bother their people over it - their program is only for Grayson County citizens).

🚨 TEXAS STORM SHELTER GRANT ALERT 🚨

We’ve been getting a LOT of questions about storm shelter rebate and grant programs, so we wanted to share a few Texas counties that currently have — or recently launched — residential safe room programs through FEMA/TDEM funding:

✅ Grayson County

✅ Denton County (pending approval/funding phase)
https://www.dentoncounty.gov/1850/Storm-Shelters
✅ Portions of West Central Texas through regional programs
https://www.wctcog.org/residential-safe-room-program/

Most of these programs are offering reimbursement of up to 50% of the cost of a FEMA-compliant storm shelter, with rebates commonly capped around $3,000.

⚠️ Important:
These programs are administered by the counties themselves, and many are first-come, first-served with limited funding available.

If you live in one of these areas and have been thinking about a shelter, now may be the time to start looking into it before spots fill up.

Storm season has definitely kept us BUSY around here at PFX Storm Shelters! 🌪️💪

This last week has been nonstop… and just when we thought we were heading home for a break, somehow we managed to get TWO flat tires at the SAME time. 🚛🛞🛞
(We’re still trying to figure out if we hit a pothole… or a land mine.) 😂

Huge shoutout to our awesome crew — Ethan, Caiden, Nathan, and Michael — for grinding through long days and keeping things rolling even when the tires weren’t. 👏

We’re thankful for the work, thankful for the team, and ready to knock out even more shelters next week!

Watch the weather this evening and make sure you have multiple ways to get notifications. If you don’t have a Storm shelter, make sure you have a plan in place and everyone knows where to go!

(3:58PM) a TORNADO WATCH has been issued through 11pm for parts of North Texas including DFW. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes will be possible. We'll keep you 4-warned.

Big milestone for PFX Storm Shelters! 🎉

We just installed our very first storm shelter inside a basement — and it’s a powerful reminder that even below ground level, having an extra layer of protection can make all the difference.

While basements offer a good level of safety, they don’t fully protect against flying debris during severe storms. That’s where a properly engineered storm shelter comes in. 💪

This installation gives our customer a reinforced, purpose-built safe space right inside their home — ready for whatever the weather brings.

If you’ve ever wondered about adding an extra level of safety to your home, this is a great example of how it can be done.
