Last week for Annual BOGO in Greenhouse #1
Produce This Week
Plant something for the Pollinators this month -- we've got the plants!
As I type this on Wednesday morning, the radar shows a big blob of rain and Thunderstorms again today. We are hoping this will just be rain, but stay tuned on FB for any hour updates.
Praying you all fared well in last week's storms. The winds were certainly fierce but on the positive note, we are getting needed rain and it has been cooler which are both perfect for planting.
Between the storms and all the bridge delays in travel, our small, rural Galena businesses are all needing a boost. We all appreciate your support and
will try and always make it worth the trip.
This week we will continue our spring hours (weather permitting) as Tuesday - Saturday 9-5. Next week we may change to our summer hours which is 9-4 on those same days. You can always check our hours on OUR website or by giving us a call. Google is not always reliable as we can submit information that isn't always changed in a timely fashion.

Freestone and wonderful!

Pea Pods (limited today)
A few zucchini and cucumbers (limited today)
Locally Grown tomatoes (grown in the ground with greenhouse cover -- that's how they are early!)

Ready soon: Beets and Kohlrabi...stay tuned plus more of above
Garlic Scape Pesto
Garlic Scapes
Fresh Basil
Parmesan Cheese
Nuts of choice: Pine Nuts, Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds...
Olive Oil
Easy peasy! Just throw all of the above into a food processor and grind to your desired consistency. I freeze mine in ice cube trays and pop them into a freezer bag for use in winter....easy to add to sauces, make a pasta sauce, flavor mayo...
You can also use the garlic scapes as you would use garlic...stir fries, salads, chop and freeze for soups...They offer a milder but deep garlic flavor. Only available in June.
June is Pollinator Month, and there’s no better time to plant with purpose.
You can plant perennials all season as long as you keep them watered appropriately! Pollinator‑friendly gardens support the bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects that keep our food system thriving — and they start with smart perennial choices.
Native standouts like Coneflower, Butterfly W**d & Swamp Milkweed, Blazing Star, Penstemon, Bee Balm, Anise Hyssop and Prairie Dropseed and Carex offer reliable nectar, long bloom windows, and habitat all season long. Plus there are many more choices including wonderful shrubs!
We have plants to meet every need and lists to help you know which plants are acceptable for each situation -- deer resistant, black walnut tolerant, dry sites, pollinator plants...all kinds of lists! Plus knowledgeable staff that is happy to help.
Another reminder...
