Galesburg Hardware

Galesburg Hardware Local hardware store that has been family owned and operated since 1987. In July of 1999 the store was rebuilt and re branded as Galesburg Hardware.

In 1968 Richard Bresson worked at the Hardware Store when it was known as Langs Hardware he worked there until 1987 when he was able to purchase the Hardware Store himself and become not just an employee but the owner of Langs Hardware. In December of 1998 Galesburg and Langs made national news when a gas leak caused an explosion and the store was lost. Richard, Karen and their two eldest sons Sco

tt and Bill ran the store together. Sadly Richard passed away in December of 2016. The store is still currently run by Karen, Scott and Bill Bresson.

Did you know...
The museum operates as a 501c3 nonprofit organization, which means donations are always welcome! Keith Martin, museum board member, collects bottles and cans daily, returning them for deposit to pay museum expenses. In 2025, Keith earned $2,960.50 for the museum through bottle returns!
