Rick VanDerSnick, President and Owner, is an interior designer who takes pride in his ability to transform spaces by bringing ideas and inspirations to life. With over a decade of experience in the industry, he has developed a keen eye for creating awe-inspiring surroundings. Rick is also adept in finding creative ways to help budget-conscious clients design their dream spaces. Rick's mission is

creating interiors with a fresh perspective that uniquely reflect the client's personality and desires. His designs produce original results that keep the client's needs and vision a priority. The result enables each individual's style to emerge into a design that will inspire and promote their well-being. Rick's detail-oriented, client-focused approach makes him flexible and fun to work with. Experienced in both traditional and contemporary interiors, Rick is able to translate any style to satisfy the desires of an assortment of different clients. His personal design style consists of a balance of natural, vintage and modern materials and décor. Academically, Rick earned a Bachelors Degree in Interior Architecture and a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design. His professional affiliations are as follows: allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), a member of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA), the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Additionally, I have been hand-selected to participate in two designer Show Houses through out my years as a interior designer.

As of 2026, J Harper Design (Rick VanDerSnick & Jon Kinyon) has officially retired. We would like to take a moment and thank ALL of the wonderful people/clients, their projects and friendships throughout the many years. We have had the pleasure working on projects of all kinds, pushing our design skills further and to new heights each time. As J Harper Design closes its doors, Rick and Jon are continuing to pursue their dreams and moving to their home in France. Attached is a link to one of our last projects….
