Weather and the installation of Grow Y'own's.
I've been installing Grow Y'own systems for 17 years. There is a misconception that once it is past last frost in all areas of the country, or that it is too hot to plant, that in general, folks believe that there is no sense in planting their gardens. However, with our unique covers and cover system, it is never too hot, too late, or too cold. We install raised beds 12 months a year here in Santa Fe, NM, at an altitude of 7200'! The Summer Deluxe Covers keep out the harsh UV sun, that at this altitude tends to burn out or wilt the delicate plants. They also keep out the destructive 70mph winds. And thirdly, they keep out all critters from mice to moose! So don't give up on getting started, when you can start growing and planting any month of the year, and grow year-round!
