We have garlic planted in the ground, which thrives under the protection of an old window over this box throughout winter. Meanwhile, 200 tomato seedlings have been started. Additionally, the kids have been engaged in making tallow soap. Let's persevere, as winter's end and spring's arrival are imminent. Before long, we'll be preparing the greenhouse for the warmer weather.

Well it’s that time of year where I give away a lot of veggies. I bet we have 300 pounds or more of potatoes to get out of the dirt. I will start freezing tomatoes so this winter I can make sauce. This is only the beginning. Growing food is work but it’s work that pays you well. The skill is lost on the younger generations and that makes me sad. I wish I had paid attention to my dad’s garden and helped him more. He could grow bell peppers has big has his hand. Mom made the best stuffed peppers and would freeze them for winter . :0(
