Bosch 3-Ton Heat Pump Install – Gardner, MA
This one started as a no-cool call. Mice had gotten into the outdoor unit and chewed up the wiring, and by the time we got there the condenser was done.
The homeowner needed a new outdoor unit and coil either way. Since it was R22 Instead of just putting in another straight AC, we talked through a Bosch 3-ton IDS heat pump and tied it into the propane furnace that was already there. It wasn't much more money, and now they've got heat out of it too, not just cooling.
The Bosch is an inverter unit, so it ramps up and down instead of slamming on and off. It's quiet and it holds a steady temperature. It'll heat the house on its own most of the winter, and when it hits 5 degrees outside the system flips over to the propane furnace by itself. Nothing for the homeowner to mess with.
We set the new condenser on a fresh pad with risers so it stays up out of the snow, and ran the lineset and electrical along the foundation.
They financed the whole job at 0% interest, so a breakdown they weren't planning for turned into a better system with nothing out of pocket up front.
If your AC quits, it's worth a quick conversation before you replace it with the same thing. Sometimes a heat pump is the better move. Give us a call.
