We harvested more honey yesterday. We will have it in jars by the weekend. We left some honey frames for the bees to finish, so one more local harvest to come.

We are not going to get nearly as much honey this year as we wanted. It was a good start but the main flow was short lived.

We will take a trailer of hives up to Surry County to try for sourwood in June.

With the help of Mishell Thielen, we have harvested some early season honey to finally offer some for sale.

This honey is very light in color, full of flavor, and pours extra thick.

It is most likely from holly blooms we had early in spring then some blackberry and other wildflowers.

We hope the bees will be making more so we can offer you even more honey later in the season.

New queen emerged from her cell in the incubator this morning. With rain yesterday it got in the way of getting the mated queens out and ready for queen cells.
