This was such a fun project with wonderful clients! DeeDee had her heart set on a beautiful two-tone kitchen, and we were excited to help bring her vision to life.
Of course, every custom project comes with a few design challenges. The biggest question was with the tall cabinets—where should the darker bottom color begin? My suggestion was to add a small trim detail at countertop height to create a natural transition point, and it worked perfectly!
The island presented another challenge. I knew it would look a little “off” if we didn’t somehow tie the adjacent wall into the design. Once again, trim came to the rescue! DeeDee’s husband added trim to the wall, making the lower portion feel like an extension of the cabinetry. He also installed picture molding on each lower end panel, pulling everything together and creating that beautiful custom cabinetry look.
It’s details like these that take a kitchen from simply painted to thoughtfully designed. We absolutely love how this transformation turned out!
