This is us!!
Let me tell you about our families horse drawn sleigh rides.
Why do we do sleigh rides?
Because I , Waneta Burr Cook grew up in Long Rapids a little outside of Alpena on the very corner of my grandparents farm, Grandpa and Grandma Jones. One of my best memories of our winters was listening for Grandpas sleigh bells and when we heard them we knew to get ready because he was coming to give us a sleigh ride. So when we arrived in Ga***rd and began having a family (yes some may call us a big family but we say we are abundantly blessed) I wanted my children and other families to enjoy that "magical" winter experience!! So we started doing sleigh rides!!
You will travel throughout our family farm, through the beautiful cut trails enjoying the beauty of Northern Michigan woodlands!! You will be able to travel through a lane to see our farm animals. Did you know that pigs are so entertaining ( they run and jump and frolic around). You will return to a roaring bonfire, steaming cup of hot chocolate, homemade cookies and a swing that young and "not so young" can enjoy!!
You can visit our little farm store where we have not only our products but many other special things made or produced locally!! Another of my passions is to support local!!
Your sleigh ride is and always has been private, it will only be your group here, only your group on the sleigh. It is a place that you can enjoy an old fashion winter activity together with all ages. I would love to share with you the history of our farm the history of our land and I love to know where all of our guests are from. They stretch from other countries to all over the United States. My prayer is that you take a little piece of Northern Michigan and a family tradition from my Grandpa Jones back home with you.
Our sleighs can each hold 10-12 adults and it is a flat rate of 150.00. We have 3 sleighs available so if you need more for your group we can make that work.
