🌿 Purple Passion Plant Spotlight 🌿

Did you pick up a Purple Passion plant from us this weekend?

These fuzzy purple beauties are known for their vibrant color and velvety leaves!

💜 Bright, indirect light keeps the purple color at its best.
💧 Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.
🌱 They prefer well-draining soil and don’t like to stay soggy.
✂️ If they start getting long and leggy, don’t be afraid to pinch them back to encourage fuller growth.

Fun fact: The purple color comes from tiny hairs covering the leaves, giving them that soft, velvety look!

We had a wonderful weekend helping 56 plants find new homes between our events this weekend! 🌿💚

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shopped with us, shared plant stories, and supported our little family business. Every purchase means so much to us.

This was our first time juggling both events at the same time, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the support.

We’ll be back at Market at the Square this Saturday and would love to see you there! 🌿

What a week! 💚🌿

We just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the shop this week. Whether you came in to browse, picked up a new plant, brought a friend, or simply shared one of our posts, we appreciate every bit of support.

It’s been a great week in the shop, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going into the weekend!

🌿 The shop will be open tonight.

We’ve been a little quiet over here lately… but behind the scenes we’ve been BUSY.

The shop is filling back up with fresh inventory and we’re getting ready for a full market weekend!

Braided money trees, calatheas, peace lilies, lithops, purple passion plants and more are making their way into the shop.

This weekend you can find us at Urbana Market at the Square + the Champaign-Urbana Market at the Fair

Also — if you’re thinking about moving your plants outside for summer, now’s the time to start acclimating them slowly to outdoor light ☀️

Who’s ready for plant season again?

Carnivorous Plant Week was honestly SO fun this week 😂🪰🌿

Thank you guys for all the comments, questions, shares, and excitement over these weird little plants. We loved getting to talk about them and seeing everyone’s favorites.

We’re CLOSED today and through Memorial Day weekend to spend some time with family, but we’ll see everyone again after the holiday weekend!

🪴 Carnivorous Plant Spotlight: Pitcher Plants 🌿🪰

These honestly look like something straight out of a jungle.

Pitcher Plants use their hanging “pitchers” to attract insects inside, where the plant then digests them for nutrients. Nature is honestly wild.

Each pitcher is actually part of the leaf and acts like a tiny trap.

A few things to know about Pitcher Plants:

• Bright light helps them thrive ☀️
• They LOVE humidity
• Distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water only
• Keep the moss consistently moist
• No fertilizer needed
• Older pitchers naturally brown off as new ones grow

One of our favorite things about these is that every plant grows a little differently, so no two really look the same. 🌿✨

Also — friendly reminder that we’ll be CLOSED Friday and Memorial Day weekend, so today is one of the last chances to stop by the shop this week if you’ve been wanting to come in!

✨ Carnivorous Plant Spotlight: Sundews 🌿🪰

Honestly… these might be one of the coolest plants we’ve ever had in the shop.

Sundews create tiny sticky “dew” droplets on their tentacles that help trap insects — and when the light hits them, they almost sparkle. ✨

A lot of people think the dew means the plant is wet, but it’s actually part of how the plant catches food!

A few things to know about Sundews:

• They LOVE bright light ☀️
• Distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water only
• Keep the moss consistently moist
• Humidity helps them thrive
• No fertilizer needed

And yes… they’re real carnivorous plants.

These have honestly been one of the most fascinating plants to watch this week and the close-up details are even cooler in person. 🌿✨
