Sometimes the best projects are the ones where the customer says, “Do whatever you think looks best.”

The original box built around the electrical wiring was unnecessarily bulky, intrusive, and very poorly finished with mesh tape and joint compound. Whoever built it originally should probably stay away from drywall and possibly the 2x4 pile too. 😆

The goal was to make it smaller, cleaner and just overall polite.

• Reframed the enclosure to reduce the overall size and improve the shape
• Used heavy-duty construction adhesive throughout the framing and drywall, along with screws where needed
• Installed 3/8” drywall
• Taped with FibaFuse MAX
• Finished with 5-minute Quick Set
• Shaped with freedom and manners 😉

Complete creative freedom on this one, which made it a fun little project.

Much less “random rude box hanging over the stairs.” Much more intentional and polite.

📍 Drywall Repair, Finishing & Painting | Felton, Delaware

This Felton project includes a mix of drywall finishing, electrical access repairs, water damage restoration, priming, and painting.

✅ New bathroom drywall taped and finished using Trim-Tex Fast Edge and FibaFuse MAX, then dustless sanded, primed/sealed, and painted

✅ Trim throughout the bathroom and adjoining hallway painted

✅ Electrical trench cuts and previous patches opened back up where needed, properly backed, reinstalled, taped with FibaFuse MAX, finished, dustless sanded, and primed/sealed

✅ Various damaged and water-stained areas throughout the home repaired, with staining sealed using BIN Shellac before finishing and priming

✅ Water-damaged plaster beneath the windows removed, wall cavities cleaned out, and exposed framing cleaned with Fiberlock ShockWave

The areas beneath the windows will remain open until the underlying leak and framing issues are corrected. Once that work is complete, the cavities will be reinsulated and the walls restored.

A lot of drywall repair is not just about making the surface look good. Proper backing, reinforced finishing materials, water damage correction, cleaning exposed framing, stain sealing, and preparation underneath the finish are what help produce a more complete repair.

📍 The Cove on Herring Creek | Lewes, DE — Drywall Repair

A couple different drywall issues were repaired in this vaulted ceiling area at The Cove on Herring Creek in Lewes, Delaware.

Near the skylight, the cracked tape seam was cut out, the drywall was secured with screws where needed, and the repair was retaped using FibaFuse MAX. It was then finished with 20 minute setting compound, dustless sanding and primed with Sherwin-Williams ProBlock.

The longer off-angle at the peak had been repaired multiple times previously by others, but the cracking continued to come back. The old tape and repair material were removed, the drywall was secured with screws, and Trim-Tex Magic Corner was installed in its place. Magic Corner allows up to about 3/8 inch of movement, making it a better fit for an area like this where seasonal movement may be contributing to the problem.

The Magic Corner was finished with all-purpose compound for the first coat, setting compound for the next coat, and lightweight for the final coat, followed by dustless sanding and Sherwin-Williams ProBlock primer.

The drywall work is complete and ready for paint. The homeowner will be handling the painting.
