Here’s a job we took care of yesterday!

The customer was having intermittent issues with their transmitters. We weren’t able to replicate the issue while on site, but we did find heavy corrosion on the battery wiring terminals, so we replaced all of the terminals to help eliminate a potential source of the problem.

The existing exit probe had also never worked properly, so we installed a Cartell wireless exit probe for reliable vehicle detection.

While we were there, we also added an additional 10-watt solar panel and solar charge controller to improve the system’s charging capability.

Here’s a look at one of the jobs we completed this week!

This customer had an Apollo gate opener that hadn’t been working for quite some time. After troubleshooting the system, we found several issues caused by the livestock and age of the equipment.

The cows had chewed through the solar panel wiring

The battery was old and needed to be replaced

The keypad gooseneck stand had broken off at the ground

We repaired the solar wiring, installed a new battery, and the customer chose to mount the keypad directly to the fence. We also secured and organized all of the wiring to help protect it from further damage caused by livestock.

We then moved to the interior gate, where we found that the cows had been pushing against the gate hard enough to tear the metal where the opener arm was mounted.

To prevent this from happening again, we reinforced the entire width of the gate with 1/4” flat bar, giving the opener arm a much stronger mounting surface and adding extra strength to the gate.

Another gate opener back up and running, with a few upgrades to help it hold up to the demands of a working ranch!

Busy day today getting this project wrapped up! This customer was having issues with large trucks and trailers using his driveway to turn around instead of the business driveway next door.

To solve the problem, we fabricated a custom section of fence to tie the gate hinge post into the existing fence and set a new 4” post on the opposite side as the latch post. We then installed a 16’ six-rail pipe gate powered by a US Automatic Patriot gate opener.

This system is equipped with:
• Wireless keypad
• Wireless Cartell free-exit probe
• 75Ah AGM battery
• 30-watt solar panel

Now the customer has a secure, reliable entrance that keeps unwanted traffic out while still providing convenient access.

Another productive day on the road serving Central Texas!

✅ Taylor – Replaced a 14-year-old LiftMaster LA412 gate operator. The old one gave years of reliable service, and we’re hoping the new one does the same!

✅ Thorndale – Repaired wiring on a US Automatic Patriot after some curious cows decided to “inspect” it.

✅ Georgetown – Replaced a battery and completed a full service on an American Armor operator to keep it running reliably.

✅ Briggs – Upgraded an American Armor radio receiver to a LiftMaster receiver for improved range and dependable performance.

Some before and after of some hinges we replaced out in Killeen. The original installer used hinges designed for lightweight ranch gates. We replaced them with some heavy duty 3/4” greaseable ball bearing hinges. We also installed a rubber bump stop to help dampen the shock when the gate closes.

Another same-day service call completed for a repeat customer!

The customer called this morning after noticing a grinding noise coming from their gate operator. Within a few hours, we were onsite, diagnosed a failed arm, and replaced it with a new American Armor arm to get the system running smoothly again.

As part of our standard service inspection, we also load-tested the battery and found it was dropping below 12V under load. The customer chose to replace the battery as well, leaving them with a reliable, fully serviced system.
