**Urgent life saving message. Read !! New boiler i am installing in this home in Georgia Vt. These poor folks went to sell their home and got an inspection from Vt Gas and it was red tagged. High co levels. Which means the boilers heat exchanger cracked. And when I came to these folks home. The lady said to me “. The boiler worked fine all winter”. So here is the thing. Just because a boiler is running and working does not mean you are entirely safe.
Reason being is because boilers (some of them) will run forever. And so if your boiler is ten years or older. To keep your family safe, please get an inspection once a year if it’s ten years or older. If it is a newer one. Every two years is ok. When we test the boiler we have an analyzer that can let us know something you can not possibly know. We stick the analyzer in the exhaust and if it is over a certain number, this means the boilers heat exchanger has cracked. The scary part of this. The boiler will still run. And it will fill your home with co and this has sadly killed many people.

During a inspection we can check the carbon monoxide (co) level. And we can check other things on your boiler to make sure it’s running correctly. If you can not afford to get an inspection done and you have an old boiler. Pm me and i am happy to Check for you. Or if you would like to schedule one. We charge $250 flat rate to check and tag your boiler. $200 got senior citizens. 65 and older. Discount also applies for military and first responders.

Please share this post if you would like to save some lives. To avoid the same thing that happened to this customer which was a close call.

Also, another thing you should do is purchase a carbon monoxide detector and stick it down in the boiler room directly above the boiler.

Today’s Swap That Water Heater episode highlights the risks of delaying water heater replacement. Despite continued functionality, old units pose significant hazards. Water heaters generally last 10-15 years, after which failure and potential flooding become increasingly likely. A client who disregarded our replacement advice suffered $42,000 in damages. (Not this client). Protect yourself by having your local plumber inspect your water heater’s age and condition. If it exceeds 10 years, prioritize replacement. Hello everyone please please please do your homework before you hire someone to install Heat Pumps. I’m seeing tons of nightmares out here in the field with companies, not putting them in correctly. They are not running condensate lines correctly therefore, they leak all over inside the walls and outside the walls. Vacuuming down refrigerant lines. Doing nitrogen in them to assure longevity. These are all things that customers do not really understand or know about.  which is totally understandable. However I have been fixing lots and lots of mistakes from people putting in Heat Pumps incorrectly.! so do your homework and one of the biggest questions you should ask is do you warranty your jobs! There’s companies throwing them in incorrectly and then saying we don’t service them. That is a huge red flag in itself.!
I’m making this post to try and help people understand this my only motive and writing is to simply educate people and help them save money and a huge headache! 

I’ve worked on about 5 peoples mistakes in the last 2 months and they are costing way too much money that these people should not have to even deal with if the units were done right! Good luck !

I've been working on a 6-unit building, previously a mansion built in the 1800s. It's currently being transformed into six separate units. I'll share more interior photos in a few weeks. It was completely gutted and started from scratch. Although it has been a challenging project, it's been rewarding to see it come together.

Be careful out there. People needing plumbing or heating work done. It is very important to get a couple different opinions. I just helped a very nice lady last week who got a estimate from the L plumbing and heating for $5000 to fix three very small things in a bathroom! Then another customer of mine who was charged $20,000 by the same company to update fixtures and two bathrooms. With two showers! This is insane! For the first job ($5000) I was able to fix everything she needed, including pulling her toilet and doing new piping for the toilet for $1200.

Sadly, companies right now are taking advantage of the fact that they are busy. So as a customer, I encourage you to do your homework and as I tell people you want a regular plumber just like you have a regular doctor.! so important to have someone you can trust and rely on. Somebody who has your back!
