Just because you have a smaller space doesn’t mean you can have a walk in shower. In fact converting to a tiles walk in may give you more space. Most fiberglass tub surrounds a made to protrude from the wall about 2 inches. All that space adds up and have long flush tile with your existing walls can help you achieve a spacious shower.

Don’t think it costs a fortune to update your kitchen. Most cabinet bodies are constructed the same way as your original cabinets so save some money and just buy new doors and refinish your existing cabinets. In this project the doors were in great shape so we saved even more by simply painting with Sherwin Williams emerald. The corner cabinet had become difficult for my elderly clients to access so we rebuilt the lower cabinet and installed shelves where the upper was located. New appliances, countertops and backsplash completed the new look. And let’s not forget about that fireplace. Whitewashing brick is a simple and cost effective way to revamp old and dingy brick.

Swipe to see one of my favorite projects to date. This bathroom was an original bathroom to a house built in the 1800s. The original floor joist are simply logs under this floor. Speaking of floors this bathroom was about 5 inches lower the rest of the house. I believe it used to be attached outhouse in the old days before the house had an addition in the 1990s we raised the floor and ceiling to match the height of the existing rooms in the house and re plumbed the entire bathroom. The old 18” door was replaced with a wider door that makes it more comfortable to enter. And lastly we made a beautiful floating vanity and medicine cabinet to match the paneling my client requested.

Use your already existing garage to give you free square footage. My client wanted a room where she would be able to create music with the rest of her performers. Framing in the door opening and installing a new French door allowed us to create a room that feels like an addition, and not just a garage to hangout in.

Widening a door way is a great option to help rooms appear bigger. This open view into the den is exactly what this small kitchen needed. A split level bar is going to be added to provide the crucial cabinet space but allow for that open view to remain between rooms.
