A little life update since we’ve had quite a few new faces around here lately 🤍

Hi, I’m Jenna — principal designer and founder of Styled Out West.

Over the last year, we’ve packed up our home in Seattle, moved back to our hometown of Gig Harbor, started building our dream home, and somehow Ive managed to keep a design business running in between school drop-offs, construction meetings, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with raising two little girls.

This season has stretched me in the best and worst ways.

Building our own home has reminded me why I’m so passionate about what I do. A home is so much more than pretty finishes and furniture. It’s where life happens. It’s where we gather, rest, celebrate, and make memories with the people we love most.

I’ve also loved getting to know this community. One of my goals this year has been to connect with more people locally, and every coffee date, client meeting, and new friendship has made Gig Harbor feel like the place I was always meant to be.

As for the business, we’re currently booked through the summer and will begin accepting new projects for fall 2026.

Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just recently found your way here, I’m so glad you’re along for the ride. I can’t wait to share more of the build, more behind the scenes, and hopefully help a few of you create homes you absolutely love living in.

A beautiful home isn’t created overnight.

This home started as a completely blank slate, which can honestly feel more overwhelming than people expect.

You know what’s funny?

Most people don’t realize they’ve outgrown their house… until they stop wanting people to come over 👀

Not because the house is bad. But because it no longer works for the life they’re living.

Nothing flows. You’re constantly tidying, but it still feels chaotic five minutes later. And eventually, you stop feeling proud of the space.

That’s usually when people find us.

Because most of the time, you don’t actually need a bigger house. You need a home that finally supports your real life.

And truthfully, you deserve that.

If your home has quietly become the place you’re mentally apologizing for… this is your sign.

This primary bathroom from our West Seattle Craftsman project is still one of my favorite bathrooms we’ve ever designed because every detail was intentionally created to feel calm, warm, and restorative — from the natural light to the custom cabinetry to the soft layered textures throughout.

Because beautiful is great. But beautiful and peaceful? That’s the ultimate goal ✨

Our client didn’t need a bigger house. She needed a space that finally felt like hers.

When you walked into this home, there wasn’t a formal entry — just two adjacent rooms that didn’t quite know what they were supposed to be.

And like so many older homes, it technically worked…
but it didn’t feel good to live in.

After an unexpected loss, she was ready for something different. A space that felt calm & comforting.
A place to start her mornings slowly by the fire… and gather with friends when she was ready.

Instead of changing the footprint, we focused on how the space lived.

We created zones. Added built-ins to ground the fireplace.
Layered in furnishings that actually fit the scale of the rooms.
And brought in warmth through texture, lighting, and thoughtful styling.

And just like that… everything shifted.

Same home. Same layout. But completely different feeling.

Because this is what most people don’t realize — You don’t always need a renovation to transform your home. You just need a plan for how it’s meant to function.

I didn’t become an interior designer and then renovate my home.

I renovated my home… and that’s what made me one.

And if I’m being honest, I learned most of this the hard way.

We made decisions without fully thinking through how we’d live in the space.
We prioritized things that looked good… but didn’t actually function.
We ran out of budget and energy before finishing certain areas (hi, basement 🙃).

And for a while, we just… lived with it.

Spaces that technically worked, but never felt just right.
Rooms we avoided. Layouts that didn’t support our day-to-day life.

And that experience changed everything for me.

Because now, when I design a home — whether it’s mine or a client’s — I’m not just thinking about how it looks.

I’m thinking about how it lives.

How mornings flow.
Where the clutter lands.
What gets used daily… and what quietly gets ignored.

That’s exactly what I’m bringing into our new build.

Every decision is rooted in function first; storage that actually supports real life; layouts that make sense for how we move through the day; spaces that feel calm, not chaotic.

Because a home can be beautiful… and still feel completely overwhelming to live in.
