High-end wallpaper look, using only paint. šŸ¤Ž

And yes, you can get crisp lines even on textured walls. Here’s exactly how I did it:

1. Choose two paint colors and paint the entire wall with your first color. I did two coats.
2. Let the paint fully cure for a few days before taping. This helps keep the tape from pulling up your fresh paint.
3. Use a laser level to keep your stripes straight. I used a piece of frog tape as a spacer so the width between each stripe stayed consistent.
4. Tape from floor to ceiling, repeating across the wall, and press the tape down really well.
5. Here’s the important part: paint a THIN coat of your first color over the edges of the tape again. This fills any tiny gaps underneath the tape so your second color can’t bleed through. Thin coats work best here. You want to seal the tape, not build up a thick layer of paint along the edge.
6. Once that’s dry, paint two thin coats of your second color. Keeping your coats thin helps prevent buildup along the tape line and gives you a cleaner finish.
7. Pull the tape as soon as you finish your second coat.

And that’s it. Perfectly crisp stripes, even on textured walls.

Save this one for the next time you’re tempted by expensive striped wallpaper. šŸ¤Ž

A few things I’ve learned while making this house feel like ours. šŸ¤Ž

A little reminder that timeless doesn’t have to mean neutral. 🩵

Turns out laundry is slightly less offensive in a pretty room. šŸ¤

We love the uniqueness of our A-frame home. However, the upstairs has some extra quirky spaces thanks to that sloped roofline (and ceiling) we love. Slowly, over time, we’re figuring out how to make the most of them, and the spaces that used to stress me out are turning into ones I love.

I found the cutest wallpaper… but I wasn’t up for the $2,000 price tag.

So I painted the stripes instead, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I love how they turned out. šŸ˜ Not to mention how satisfying pulling all that tape off was.

Our 9-year-old has been eagerly waiting for this project.

When his little brother moved into the room a few months ago, he happily took this cozy corner. Three boys sharing one room has worked surprisingly well, but I wanted to make sure he still had a little space that reflected who he is.

A simple headboard, a quick dresser makeover, a color-changing light, and a few basketball touches were all it took to completely transform his corner.

Sometimes it’s not about having more space. It’s about making the space you have feel personal.

A beautiful room rarely comes from buying random pieces and hoping they work together.

It comes from having a vision, making intentional choices, and creating a plan before the purchases.

This tween room was such a fun one to bring to life. So cute, cozy, and designed to grow with her for years to come.

We tackled this classy guest bedroom last weekend. The goal was timeless, inviting, and fitting for the rest of this beautiful traditional home. It already had great bones. Now it feels warm, layered, and ready for guests.

Pro tip: don’t enlist me to help with the guest room… I may never leave.
