Basic Function: to supervise and participate in all activities related to the
accomplishment of specific jobs.

Organizational Relationships:
Reports to: Operations Manager.

Manages: Crew Members.

Pay Range: $22-26 per hour depending on experience.

Scope of Responsibility:
Success of job; relationship with client; management of crew. Success is defined as completing jobs on schedule and the client is happy with the work performed.
Specialized Functions and Skills: Must have clear understanding of jobsite safety. It is the Crew Leader’s responsibility to ensure the safety of their clients, themselves and their crewmembers at all times. Must possess knowledge of products. Must also have the ability to document daily activities. Must also be able to efficiently manage painters and all tasks involved with completing jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Arrange walk-through with client and Operations Manager prior to start of job.
• Make sure all color samples are approved and come up with “game plan” to finish the job on time. Discuss this plan with Operations Manager prior to beginning.
• During the course of a job there may be opportunities to sell additional work, or the client may ask for additional work to be performed. The Crew Leader is expected to sell or take on additional work at every opportunity available, provided that an Additional Work Order Form is completed and signed by the client. This completed form must be returned to the Operations Manager and put into the job file to be added to the final bill.
• The Crew Leader is responsible for the safety and performance of every man or woman on his crew.
• The Crew Leader is to monitor attendance, appearance, language, proper use of equipment.
• It is the Crew Leader’s responsibility to see that all new hires are trained according to standards and procedures of AZ Spruce UP. These procedures are detailed in the AZ Spruce UP Training Manual.
• Field Training is to be completed appropriately, and in a timely manner.


CREW LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION

• Crew Leader should monitor his crew’s performance and make the necessary adjustments to bring the job in “Happy and Under”.
• Crew Leader is to keep written records of everyone’s attendance and make performance evaluations, whether good or bad, on his/her crew-members.
• Be on time and help enforce this practice with other crew-members. You must let the Operations Supervisor know if you are running more than five minutes late to work. Failure to do so is grounds for termination.
• Attend AZ Spruce UP Operation’s Meetings.
• Maintain dress code according to AZ Spruce UP standards. Must wear clean AZ Spruce UP shirt, khaki pants or shorts, and sturdy shoes. No sandals, cutoffs or tank tops.
• Keep an accurate account of time/hours. Information is to be completed and returned to the office immediately at the end of the job.
• Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are to be present in your vehicle, along with fire extinguishers and first aid kits at every job.
• To see that vehicles on the job are maintained and cleaned regularly.
• Keep job site signs on all current jobs and return them to office after job completion.
• Order materials as needed for job only with office approval.
• Deal with client’s questions and concerns on the job-site daily. Report concerns and/or problems to Operations Manager immediately.
• Assist with other duties as directed.

Crew Labor Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Crew position helps maintain the grounds, facilities, and amenities of our clients and reports to the Crew Supervisor or Operation Manager. He or she ensures that all mechanical systems and equipment are functional and properly maintained in a clean and aesthetically appealing condition.
The Crew position also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of AZ Spruce UP . He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of AZ Spruce UP as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with our external customers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (May include some or all of the following as applicable)
• Reviews and completes work orders assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Crew Supervisor.
• Routinely inspects community and advises supervisor of any issues or makes corrections.
• Utilizes and maintains equipment in a proper, safe and effective manner.
• Maintains working relationships with community staff.
• Painting or touch up of all common areas as needed.
• Properly performs casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by supervisor.
• Makes general carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other minor community/building repairs as long as a permit is not required to complete the job.
• Maintains records and other maintenance reports as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains Community street drains.
• Polices property and adjoined areas for debris/trash.
• Operates weir and performs maintenance of weir.
• Performs sprinkler checks and report issues to Crew Supervisor for vendor referral
• Reports need for major repairs to Crew Supervisor.
• Checks all lighting daily.
• Pressure washes decks, sidewalks, entrances, and A/C and heat pump pads as necessary to maintain neat appearance. Regularly check AC drip pans for draining and clogs.
• Maintain any applicable recreational amenities (i.e., tennis courts, basketball court, bocce court).
• Ensures all safety precautions and procedures are followed while performing duties in compliance with OSHA guidelines and requirements.
• May be assigned other duties by Crew Supervisor.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses:
High school diploma or equivalency preferred. May require HVAC certification.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

Requires a minimum of (1) year general experience in building trades, repair, and maintenance or handy work. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Language requirements:

Multiple language fluency is desirable.
Travel and availability requirements:
Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirement. Ability to respond to emergencies and call outs in a timely manner during on-call rotation or as directed by supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50lbs. following appropriate safety procedures: Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time. Crawl in small and tight spaces. Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain). Walk and climb stairs. Handle, grasp, feel objects and equipment. Reach with hands and arms. Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written. Ability to quickly and easily navigate property/buildings are required to meet the job functions. Repeat various motions with wrists, hands and fingers. Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms. Ability to work extended/flexible hours and weekends based on project requirement. Driving when necessary (may be required to possess a valid Arizona Driver s License).
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 12-16 ft).

Working Conditions:

Work will be divided between indoor and outdoor work. The proportion of indoor to outdoor work will fluctuate. May be exposed to weather conditions such as heat, cold or rain while working outdoors.

Now hiring Landscape Laborer to join our team. If you enjoy working outside, using your hands and learning new methods of construction please reply. All tools and machines are provided. Our team works residential areas in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Currently we are working Monday - Friday and pick up a few Saturdays.

If you have no experience please consider this opportunity to learn a trade.

If you have experience in any aspect of landscape, irrigation, masonry and or hardscapes please reply.

Must be dependable, reliable, work well with others and want to learn new methods. Able to complete physical labor such as digging, hauling and dumping.

Bilingual is beneficial, but not required.
