Plant Profile: Showy Mountain Ash is an excellent medium ornamental tree. A true four season stunner, this tree boats white spring flower clusters atop leaves that are an attractive dark green with a frilly texture, followed by gorgeous red fruit the persists into winter as forage for birds and we cannot forget its stunning red fall color. Great for yards, boulevards and small enough for under power lines, it makes a great addition to any landscape. Not suitable for locations with standing water, but very tolerant of urban conditions. There are a few great full grown specimens around Glasgow. Full sun. 25 ft tall by 15 ft wide. Zone 3

Well folks… the time is coming. We’ve set our closing date for June 19th. This year we won’t be having a big blow out sale as we will be attempting to save plants for next season. However trees are 10% off starting today! Hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day!

Plant Profile: Parkland Pillar® is a beautiful birch with a narrow, upright, dense habit. It boasts white bark and dense, dark green foliage that turns golden in late fall. This fast-growing variety is suitable for gardens, screens, or boulevards. Tolerant of heat, drought, and alkaline soils, Parkland Pillar® is an excellent choice for urban landscapes. Its narrow form and bold colors make it the perfect accent tree or privacy screen when planted in multiples. 30’tall x 8’wide. Zone 3.

Plant Profile: Dark Purple Bloomerang Lilac is an excellent choice for a lower hedge or for someone who loves lilacs but doesn’t have the space. Growing 4-5 feet tall and wide this lil beauty stays in a nice mounded shape without suckering. It’s a Korean lilac so it blooms slightly after the big lilac show and what truly makes this plant awesome is it blooms twice, hence the name. Blooms on new and old wood. Full sun. Zone 3.

Plant Profile: Lollipop Dwarf Korean Lilac are a fun way to add a small pop of color to your yard. Hardy like a lilac, but they don’t produce suckers. And they keep the nice balled shape naturally! 4-5’ tall and wide. At least 6hrs of sun. Zone 3.

I snapped this picture of our Pulmonaria this morning. So pretty!

Unfortunately I can’t remember for sure what variety this is. The label says Raspberry Splash but I think it is more likely Baby Blue or some other variety.

Pulmonaria are a fun alternative to hosta as a shade perennial. They have silvery spotted leaves that look good after the spring blossoms have finished. They seem to spread a bit, but not aggressively…they have more of a tendency of becoming a “patch” rather than remaining a well defined plant like a hosta.
