Thank you to everyone who stopped by last month’s pop-up plant sale at LRPPG! Our plant cart is one way we share extra nursery-grown native plants with the community (after our restoration and habitat projects are taken care of, of course!). If you were one of the lucky folks able to snag a plant, it was truly "mint" to be 💚

If you missed it, we’ll be back this month with another limited selection of native plants, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability varies, so quantities are always limited.

Learn more about upcoming plant sale dates and what to expect at louisrobidouxparkland.org.

Cool-Season Planting & Bare-Root Trees

January is a great time to get plants in the ground in Southern California! 🌿

Now is ideal for planting cool-season vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, peas, spinach, and chard. You can also plant bare-root fruit trees and vines such as apples, pears, plums, grapes, berries, asparagus, and artichokes while they’re dormant.

🌳 Bare-root plants establish quickly when planted during winter dormancy and often outperform container plants once spring arrives.

💧 Keep newly planted areas evenly moist and be sure soil drains well.

👉 What are you planting this January?
