Both the AAP and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommend children face backward until they outgrow their seat. That means most children should remain in a rear-facing car seat until they're at least 2 or 3 years old. When your child outgrows the height and weight limits of a rear-facing infant seat, you still have the option of moving him into a convertible seat with a higher height and weight limit. That way, you can keep him rear-facing a little longer, and when he's ready to ride facing forward, the convertible seat will still fit him. Parents that worry about their kids legs being injured because their legs touch is a common misconception. Kids are less likely to injure their arms and legs rear facing.

In conjunction with Garfield County’s Stage I Fire Restrictions that begin May 31, 2018, the Town of Carbondale and Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District are instituting State I Fire Restrictions within town limits until further notice.

Stage I Fire Restrictions include:
>campfires are only allowed within designated fire grates in developed campgrounds (i.e. a metal, in-ground containment structure -- fire pans and rock campfire rings are not acceptable)
>no fires of any type, including charcoal grills, outside of developed areas
>no smoking except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or in a barren area free of vegetation
>no use of explosive materials
>no welding or operation of an acetylene or other similar torch with open flame except from an area that has been cleared of vegetation
>no operation of any internal combustion engine without a spark arresting device properly installed and in working order

In addition, Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District is not issuing any open burning permits anywhere in the fire district. The fuel moisture content is low, there is not a lot of rain predicted in the near future and experts are predicting an increased wildfire risk in our area. Restrictions will remain in place until sufficient rain has fallen to mitigate hazardous fire conditions.

We believe every small business should have at least 1 camera at every entry viewing the foot traffic. If there is an incident or a crime, the footage helps the police identify the suspect. Lately there is more and more dine and dashing, shop lifting, and counterfeit crimes in Glenwood Springs.
Having a professional design a camera system with the appropriate lens and resolution, will ensure you are seeing with the clarity and distance you need.

We always recommend our customers to have at least one camera watching driveways-and parking areas to help the police when unfortunate things like this happen. The police can use the footage to identify a suspect or their vehicle.
