Where should you splurge…and where can you save…during a remodel or new build?

Our three splurges:

1. An experienced designer
A cohesive plan helps protect the entire investment and prevents expensive decisions from being made on the fly.
2. Skilled finish subcontractors
Beautiful materials can still look disappointing when the installation falls short. Craftsmanship matters.
3. Functional cabinetry
Cabinetry should do more than look good. Thoughtful storage and interior organization affect how your home works every day.

Our three strategic saves:

1. Secondary bathrooms
Keep layouts efficient and use simpler materials without sacrificing the overall design.
2. Lighting
Invest in statement fixtures where they matter most, then use well-priced supporting fixtures throughout the rest of the home.
3. Window treatments
Prioritize custom treatments in high-impact spaces and choose simpler solutions where function matters more than drama.

Every project is different, but the goal is the same: spend where it creates lasting value and simplify where it won’t compromise the finished result.

Save this for your next remodel, and tell us where you would splurge.

Transformation is not simply replacing what looks dated. We begin by identifying why the space is not working, rebuild the plan around the way our clients live and carry those decisions through every finish and construction detail. Swipe to see the thinking behind the finished room.

The final layer makes all the difference.

For our styling service, we bring a curated selection of accessories, artwork and finishing pieces into your home, then style each space in place. You purchase only what you love and want to keep—we take care of returning the rest.

As a general guide, the styling investment typically ranges from $4–$6 per square foot, depending on the pieces selected and the amount of shelving, artwork and surface area being styled.

No guessing. No buying ten pieces online and returning nine. Just a home that finally feels finished.

What we heard: ‘I have an impossible floor plan’

What we did:

1.Pulled the kitchen towards the living room
in order to utilize the taller ceiling for most of the space. The 6’8” dropped ceiling was able to increase height. Strategically placed the range wall cabinets within the lower droped ceiling area and created a soffit above these cabinets.

2. Utilized the wasted space adjacent to the kitchen, relocated the back patio sliders into the living space and made this wall more storage and lower cabs with windows above.

3. Removed this wall to allow for our larger kitchen footprint. Created a new wall between the kitchen and dining. The kitchen side of this wall was now the refrigerator/freezer column wall, back dining room side became the dry bar.

4. Utilized this huge space behind the kitchen to create 4 new rooms: Pool Bathroom; Laundry Room; Pantry/Storage; Mudroom Entry from Garage.

Nothing is impossible, it just takes some creative thinking and most times a fresh outlook. Reach out today to see how we can help with your impossible design projects.

At our Palo Verde Project, natural materials, measured contrast and clean architectural lines create a home that feels modern without becoming cold. The restraint is intentional: fewer competing ideas, stronger materials and details that have room to breathe.

To say we completely turned this home upside down is an understatement. Swipe for the before images to see what we started with before we reimagined the design and finishes.

Bidding before design is complete doesn’t save time, it creates guesswork and disappointments.

Without finalized plans, materials, and details, contractors are pricing assumptions instead of an actual scope. That leads to incomplete bids, surprise costs, and change orders once construction begins.

Design first. Bid second. Build with fewer surprises.

Warm wood, collected details and a restrained palette give the Green Hollow Project its calm, but texture is what keeps it interesting. When a room is neutral, every shift in material, scale and finish matters.

The goal was not to fill the space. It was to make every piece feel intentional.

Save this palette for a warm, collected home.

What makes a remodel feel “almost finished” instead of truly complete?

It usually comes down to one thing: the lack of a cohesive plan.

When finishes are selected individually, and furnishings, lighting, and styling aren’t considered together, the result can feel disconnected…even after a full renovation.

A truly finished home isn’t about more pieces. It’s about the right pieces working together from the start.

That’s what creates contrast, continuity, and a space that truly feels intentional.
